What is wrong with tanking?

I want the team to lose and get a top draft pick instead of winning a couple of meaningless games so that you can puff your chest out and feel like a real winner. You should stop displaying short-sighted stupidity and look at the well-being of this team long term. I said it, so what? You should know by now that I don’t mind sharing my opinion even if it offends you.
And one thing I guarantee you is that the coaches and players are not like you and want to lose. They’re going to give 100%. Only fans quit. And you’ve quit.

Thanks for outing yourself as a quitter and a loser. Kudos.
I am not a coward though. By the way, I am not playing , neither are you , so I find it hard to be a quitter or loser. When Jimmy was playing people off the streets and trading away his best player, was you calling him a quitter or loser?

Are you blind? These players have already quit during games this year. I would rather lose out this year and gain the players to have long term success than win another game just so I could strut around and pretend to be winners. Old school Dallas fans used to be Super a Bowl or bust type of fans. An 8-8 year was just as bad as a 1-15 year. Both are losing seasons if no Super Bowl is won.

I would say 8 and 8 is WORSE than 1 and 15. At least in the latter scenario, you get to look forward to potentially getting elite players in the draft

Again, players don’t quit. Their livelihood is on the line. Same reason coaches don’t quit. Only fans like you quit.

Well if you feel that way about it, why watch at all?
After 25 years of Jerry destroying the legacy that Landry built, we all should be questioning why we watch. I remember when expectations were so high that reaching the playoffs never raised an eyebrow. These modern fans are just happy to reach a playoff and lose instead of demanding more from this owner and team.

I'm sure cleveland regrets that number 1 pick to scoop up Lebron James and would have instead rather have won a few extra games that season. Oh wait, they don't. A stinker year or two that allows you to get potentially franchise changing talent is much better than being stuck in perpetual mediocrity and always hovering around 8 and 8. No thanks.

That year we went 4 and 12 allowed us to get a lot of the key guys for our franchise including Dak and Zeke. The same could be true for this upcoming draft

Did you even watch the games this year? Yes, they quit and every commentator in the country recognized it too. In a Dallas, their livelihood is never in question because the players know that Jerry and his country club atmosphere will not do anything about it. There was players admitting to not putting out 100% effort and you are denying it? SMDH

If you have to ask this question. It’s not even worth discussing it. I could give you 20 reasons. The first one is the culture of the locker room the example it sets. Yeah let’s lose LMAO
Did you miss the team quitting earlier this year? There is no winning culture in the locker room with this team. The players are entitled gutless wonders and the fans makes excuses for them.

You are claiming Jimmy lost on purpose to "tank"

Such total and complete BULLSHET!

I'll stick to my own opinion of Jimmy's intentions and say he didnt quite put all of his full coaching acumen to work towards achieving success in '89.
He had engineered several draft pick bonuses with the Vikes GM that were contingent upon if those vets traded in the Herschel deal played, then Jimmy would not get the high picks. I think Holt may have been the only Vike traded vet he kept. You label it a tank. I call it Jimmy building the team towards future success.

Either way,
I hope it happens again.

Hard to be proud for our young men when their being told by society, educators, and even businesses like Gillette that they all have inherent Toxic Masculinity.

If I had a son and he was drafted, I’d personally buy him a ticket to Canada rather than give himself up for this country where he’s not appreciated and told he was responsible for every atrocity committed in the last 400 years.
This could really get interesting.

Wow! Have you ever played the game? Just wondering.....I can't image some that knows what it takes, wanting to lose. If you're just a fan, I can understand your opinion.

Bull****. Being dejected when they’re so far behind is not quitting. They always come out strong and then get their ***** kicked.

Sorry, I really thought this was common knowledge.

Jimmy left good players sitting on the bench because he was tanking for the draft picks tied to those picks. Jimmy tanked for picks, and it was not a secret at all. Sorry if this doesn't fit into your ideas and thoughts, but that is what happened.
Jimmy discussed this on one of the documentaries about the Dallas teams if the early 90’s. He has told the story countless times, but some fans just don’t want to hear it because it taints the memories of the good ole days.

I played and coached for years. I am only agreeing with the actions that Jimmy Johnson took to rebuild the Cowboys. It worked for Jimmy and it will work now.

We don't have Jimmy and he never lost on purpose. He traded and cut the fat, but he never benched starters and played scrubs like many are suggesting.
