I was **this** close to downloading this game, but I decided to download and play Uncharted 4 since I'm so far behind on these games. I figure I have to do do these games since I'm not going to get a PS5 in the near future.
The Uncharted series is another one I've been considering but I'm so far behind. My daughter had 2 on the PS3 and I went through the opening. No doubt I will like it but there are only so many hours in the day. I'm a fan of Naughty Dog and have a few friends there.

I'm in the same boat. I'll wait until early next year to buy one of the new consoles. I've always been a PS guy but I admit that the new Xbox is intriguing. They still won't send us dev kits though. We're required to be backwards compatible and can't even test it out yet.

To be honest man. I have always been a PlayStation guy too. I’ve owned PlayStation every step of the way 1-4.

issue is most of my buddies who I play online with, are all x box guys. So I had to switch over to Xbox last generation.

I don’t know if I’ll want to spend the coin on both systems this generation. Considering the kids and other budget constraints.

I already don’t get to play games as often as I want to lol. If I had both systems one would just collect dust anyway lol. Plus I also play the switch with my son.

Uncharted are great games if you ever get around to playing them.

I am a huge Indiana Jones fan and this is like playing a new age Indiana Jones.

very well written and entertaining games.

I'm not sure I know that one. Can you give a quick description/review? I know I can google it but the opinions are here actually matter more to me.

It might turn some people off because it is very much rooted in Japan and anime, but don’t let that scare you away.

The game is half rpg and half social sim, where you have to balance your time between managing your actual life and the life you live doing the “rpg stuff.” It follows a group of students who gain the ability to enter people’s psyches and change whatever distorted cognitions they have. For example, the first boss

(minor spoilers)

is the high school gym teacher who is sexually abusing his volleyball students.

It’s a very long game with a great combat system and fantastic characters

Totally fair my man. I've been against Xbox, mainly from a dev side but I am curious about the new one. I'll wait until I see that to make a decision. I do need a new PC sometime soon also.

Like look at this.. My friend who has one says it feels like you’re actually shooting a gun.

The controller looks like the star of the console wars right now. As well as exclusive games of course.

You're younger than I am but obviously have a good head on your shoulders. Better than I had in my younger years. My unsolicited advice is to stick to one system and with your friends because that will matter the most in the long run. Don't spend the coin on both. I know you and your wife had a new baby somewhat recently, how is he/she doing?

Big Indiana Jones fan here too. I've been kind of purposely stayed away because I know that's all I will be doing. I'm an all or nothing kind of guy,

That sounds so Japanese that I will have to check it out! They really do have some great minds.

It's definitely a next gen game changer. And one of the reasons for one. Drains it all quickly though.
Speaking of, multiple PS5's are bricking because of multiple issues. Entering rest mode, having an external hard drive plugged in...literal black screens. My Series is runnin' smooth as tarantula silk

Demon Souls/Dark Souls is a different type of difficulty that will likely initially turn most off tbh if they're thinking Assassins Creed or Witcher level type of difficulty.

You will die, and then try something different, then die again. Where this is much better with the PS5, as there should little to no loading time to get right back at it. I can tell you probably the most frustrating thing is almost beating a boss and dying , then only to look at a loading screen for 60 seconds before having to do it all over.

Go in humble, die a plenty, and you start to learn as you go. Even small enemies have a pattern you must respect, but these types of games have also been the most rewarding since I've started playing them about 5-6 years ago.

So try not to let the initial masochistic vibes throw you (that's what I thought when I first played Bloodborne; who WANTS this?? difficulty). Bloodborne is on PS plus for PS5 too if you want to see the last gen staple for these types of games. My fave of the ps4 personally.

Lol. I know we talked about this before. But Bloodborne on NG + is outrageous. That's why I want to play Demon's Souls so badly.
With FROM software Elden Ring is going to blow people's minds. Absolutely can't wait for it.

I'm late on this one tbh but psyched now! Never was a LOTR fan (Elijah Wood mostly) but would be after this game type thing. Do you have a window on the release date? Was kind of wondering if we were going to get a sequel to Bloodborne but am guessing this is what they've been working on which is fine tbh; BB works as standalone game. Tks for info brotha!

Tarantula silk...stealing it..never heard that phrase bf :D

Sux about the ps5 issues, I've heard of similar issues from some testers online. This is why they "just don't make more" etc. Imagine having to fix all the broken hardware/refunding of $ from a failed launch not to mention the social stigma sticking around for awhile..

Look back at earlier Xbox1 launch with them telling fans what was what early on (got their Xbox lead fired from all the bad PR)..they paid for it a whole gen but games probably had more to do with it down the line. They learned from that though, Xbox has easily had the better launch.

Yeah definitely, that was bad. At the time I was a massive Xbox homer, so I had my blinders on, but looking back I can see that Don Mattrick almost sunk Xbox. With their initial standings of the console always having to be online and no game sharing....just ouch. Hell, there is an interview video of him floating around on the internet saying that if you don't have internet to support your (at the time) always online Xbox One, to just stick with or go buy an Xbox 360. hahaha Wow! Don was Sony's best employee then. lol Xbox had to backpedal fast after that and fix a few things (allowing game sharing, no internet needed) but it definitely hit them in the wallet with sales and reputation.

Phil Spencer is the new CEO and he has done SO many good things to right the ship. He's really done a phenomenal job and he has Xbox's future looking really bright this round.

Also, before we get into a console debate, lol, they're both going to awesome consoles. Manufacturing has issues no matter who you are. It's just the price you pay for mass producing a product, especially an electronic device. Sony and Xbox both are going to have some issues.

I went Xbox first because they've always been my to-go-to console. I used to be an Xbox homer (Sony sucks type attitude) until I finally came around and bought a PS4 Pro last generation. It was a fine console and I enjoyed having it. While I play my Xbox probably 80% to Sony's 20%, it was great to lean on for some exclusive titles and to just mix it up. It is also a great place to "hide from my friends". Most of my friends are on Xbox and sometimes when I feel like loading up a certain game, I start getting spammed with requests to play some other game (I'm looking at you COD). On PS4, I have a very small friend list. lol

I know I will eventually end up with a PS5. I think the haptic controllers do look cool, and I'm most certainly interested in trying them, but I've been reading they're not for everybody. Some people hate the feedback and are looking for a way to turn it off. I guess it just depends on the person and what you want out of your controller. As for the new Xbox controller, I'm absolutely loving it. The changes were very subtle but in all the right places IMO.

With all that said.............Xbox rules!! ;) I'm just playing. :muttley:

I prefer Xbox to PlayStation but you can just buy a controller and play Xbox games on a computer..

That’s what did it for me.

Maybe in a few years Xbox will be worth it but right now I see a company that wants to be more like Netflix instead of a console seller.

To each their own man. I think the first Xbox was like that, as I mentioned above, their announcement coming out of the gate was bad and they were trying to pass it off as an "entertainment" console. The new Xbox, I haven't felt like I've seen any advertising or pushing of them trying to repeat that mistake. You do you though!
