I don’t know what your avatar is drinking but I want some of that!!! I can’t even believe I responded to this question. Usually I like to answer as positively as possible but this time I’ll make an exception. You can’t be serious???

Stafford has too many injuries and at 33 he's one hit away especially with back problems (reference Romo). I think Dak is the QB in Dallas for a while whether good or bad.

Whatever he’s drinking or combining with drugs I wouldn’t dare touch it!

I see the numbers for Dak contract are creeping up again.... so let me ask you...is Mahomes contract really 50M per year?

and how do you know what jerry feels about Dak? although Jerry has said Dak is got all the leverage and he knows what he means to the team...

and I think Dalton is a 4-12 waiting to happen, healthy team or not....he showed that much this year...
I said hes not signed because his owner feels the same daks not a 40million dollar guy and mahomes deal isnt 50 i know this because he was 5year first round contract and signed after 3and ? he still already a two time MVP, a SB winner and been to going on 3 Championship games in a row ..that why theres no hesitation by his owners..

let me know when we can add daks accomplishments in the same conversation because we can NOT without laughing..im ROTFLMAO right now you tired to do so..

------Dexter Coakley , Ken-yon Rambo, Randall Williams and a conditional 8th round pick.

I'd even throw in Paul Palmer!

It’s funny how some fans seem to relish the idea of the Cowboys having a castoff who has a losing QB record and zero playoff wins as the teams starting QB. Many Cowboy fans were pulling for Andy Dalton to become our starter who won nothing in Cincinnati and now some are hoping we acquire Matt Stafford who won nothing in 12 seasons in Detroit. The hate for Dak here is unparalleled.
It's not hate though in reality.
As someone mentioned, it's about value. Dalton was what $2 million last season whereas Prescott was over $31 million. When Dalton had reasonable protection from the third string offensive line the offense was fine, it wasn't the problem.
Stafford would be an upgrade over Dalton and his contract is reasonable over the next two years whilst we can draft and groom a QB to ride his rookie contract.
But the front office will likely sign Prescott to a huge deal coming off a serious foot injury - it would pretty much tie in with other brainless decisions by them.

You Dak haters crap on Dak saying he can’t win and now you googoo eyes over a 33 yr old QB who can’t win? Yeah, ok. CZ members never cease to amaze me.
Look at the result you can get with Stafford and the amount it will cost you vs Dak. Plus Stafford is just a better qb. Better arm, more accurate. He is a great talent stuck on a crap team for over a decade.

Stafford is good but Dak is great and has also been stuck on a crap team.

well im betting it would be Dak for stafford straight up if Dak approved on Tag the [layers has to approve a sign and trade type deal..doubt dak want to go to the lions, so that out,.,if we cant sign dak and he holds out we could offer a 3rd this year and 4th next to Detroit and get him..might be better option to Dalton for sure.i have this weird feeling, if tagged and no deal imminent, dak may hold out and not sign the tag

this is all spitballing not knowing where dak and the FO are on the contract negotiations. Like river did for Indy i bet Stafford could at least keep us playoff hopeful..look at our offense when healthy Stafford could make some noise..

Dak straight up for a 33 year old QB? No thanks. I’m a fan of Staffords but I’m not giving away a guy as talented as Dak who hasn’t yet reached his prime. We’d be looking for another QB in a couple years.

It’s about hate for some because many don’t like Dak’s game. They don’t think he’s a very good QB who’s worth a lot of money. When it comes to a QB it’s about winning not value. If you’re going to win you need the best QB you can get regardless of the price which is why QBs are being paid so much. Andy Dalton cost us about 3 million last season and he was 4-5 and stunk with our season on the line against the Giants. He needs reasonable protection and a lot of other things going for him to be successful. He’s clearly a lesser QB than Dak and he’s being paid like a lesser QB. Stafford would be an upgrade over Dalton but some here want him as our starter and he’s not an upgrade over Dak. Drafting and trying to groom a young QB doesn’t guarantee you success. We have a terrific young QB so it would be foolish to move on from him and roll the dice in the draft on another one. It would be brainless not to re-sign him and be left with a castoff.

Because if they don’t find a trade partner he’s going to be released. Would rather get him off the streets then have to give up draft compensation for him. The Cowboys couldn’t find a trade partner for Romo who was still playing at a high-level although he was injury prone. It’s possible Stafford will get traded he’s a very productive QB. However there’s going to be a number of good QB prospects in this draft. Personally it would be very hard for me to trade for a 32 year old QB who’s only made the playoffs 3 times in 12 seasons and has an 0-3 playoff record.
If he's released, there now become even more suitors for his talents. And in that instance, it becomes little more than a money issue. Phillip rivers received several offers last season. If you're intent on signing Stafford, best move is to deal with lions. If not, it's a crap ahoot.

Trading for Stafford would assure acquiring him but he might not be happy with the team he’s traded to. He’s going to want to go to a team where he’s going to have a chance to be successful. It’s possible he could buck a trade if he doesn’t like the team. Will be interesting to see how it plays out. Many of these longtime veteran QBs are released and allowed to choose amongst suitors.

I am not so hot on Moore. and lets not forget Moore was a 1st year OC, with all of 1 year of coaching experience in total, getting to run the most important offensive coaching position on the team in 2019....and this year, he wasn't much better. he is making a lot of mistakes, learning as we go, much like garrett did.
Moore is far more innovative than garrett. I have a lot of faith in Moore. Jmo

Totally agree with that. With qb's in particular, much of their ability is based on perception.

You may not have seen my edit but I added that many of these long time veteran QBs are released so they can pick amongst suitors. Stafford certainly isn’t going to want to go from one hopeless team to another.

We aren't winning with a SB with Dak, so I'm fine with not signing him. BUT, you maybe have a two-year window with Stafford. Does this team look remotely close to winning a SB on the whole? Yeah, we are good at WR and TE, but then what do we have? If we botch the draft, we are in for a long ride, and Stafford ain't saving us any more than Dalton did. Better off grooming some young QB and if you have to lose, lose cheap and ride out a couple of these awful contracts.

He's been coached by swartz, caldwell and patricia. All lousy hc's.
Caldwell won a SUPERBOWL with Joe flacco. He’s a great coach....

since he left Joe never made the playoffs. Stratford had his chances

There is no need to trade for Stafford. The cats out of the bag. Stafford wants out and Detroit wants to reboot. Teams will just wait until they cut him.
