I could not disagree more
Wilson is an elite QB prospect
He may succeed or bust but as a prospect he has elite traits
The biggest determinants of long term success in the NFL are great GM, great HC and great QB. Of these, great QB is the only draftable position
Also, next years QB class is quite weak and who knows where Jets will be picking
No way would I pass him if I was picking at 2 and needed a QB

Wilson is starting day 1? I doubt it.
2022 QB class is weak? Just a guess on your part.

Name the good teams Wilson played well against.

Was Wilson a 4-year starter? That is one trait for a franchise QB.

Dallas has not shown the offensive creativity to showcase a talent like Pitts... They barely use Pollard..

With Pitts you don’t need to be as creative.

Just having him allows you to hide your run and pass sets better and if you give Amari Cooper 1v1 matchups then you’ll get toasted..

Pitts just provides a matchup problem for our opponents that would be overwhelming.

You’d have to keep the safeties deep and just allow Zeke to beat you.

He is an elite PROSPECT. So was Darnold.

I think the right situation for rookies is of paramount importance, especially for QBs.

There is absolutely that knows for sure how things will turn out for Wilson, but he is definitely the best option for the Jets.....who btw ought to be able to surround him with top talent given thier draft capital and cap room.

Nobody's right all the time. And Wentz did play great for a stretch there. And why would he be a Philly fan? Born and raised in California, and went to college in California. Started his career in Atlanta. Then went to the four letter network.

I find nothing on the internet about his being a Philly fan. Besides even if he is he still has a job to do, doesn't mean he can't report what he hears...
Sal Palantonio is the reporter Rockport is probably referring to. He covers the NFL nationally, but is based in Philadelphia. Palantonio wrote a book about how the Eagles Super Bowl Championship season.

I don't know about this. Pitts is not a typical TE so to exploit his abilities the OC needs to create mismatches as much as possible. I have not seen Kellen Moore use his TEs as much other than blockers and possession receivers.

Jerry needs to be like George Costanza.

If he falls to 10, I would be happy to have him, with our talent at WR, he would dominate, but I don't want to give up the house to move up. This defense needs way too much and our OL needs youth, can't give up the farm to get him.

This was a " plant a seed" statement
There is truth to this as well. Jerry would love watching the national and local press go on and on about his outside the box pick.............. how everyone knows they need defensive help but they took a TE on an already loaded offensive team, blah, blah, blah............... Jerry would eat that up.
Jerry is not infatuated with Pitts. He is infatuated with all of the publicity that comes with Pitts.
As the time is winding down to the draft, Chris Mortensen is contacting all the teams, trying to get some info\intel on what the FOs are doing.
"Mort" probably is asking each team about Pitts - and getting similar comments across the board. But he knows the response from the Cowboys GM draws more interest than anyone else - so Mortensen makes that one public.

I think it’s as simple as putting him in different places and making the defense adjust to that.

I’m all for creativity but I think he’s just an easy button.

Exactly. This is also farce. Can't believe people believe the Manziel story. If Jerry really wanted him we'd have gotten him. Jerry was selling drama for his buddies in the media as he might be now.

Exactly.

The whole Manziel thing was supposed to be something that people could point to that shows Jerry’s willingness to listen to those around him and how he isn’t a dictator and it backfired on the team and is just used to show how much of an idiot he is.

I assume to go this high, he would need to be a downfield receiver. The Cowboys have never had a real downfield threat at tight end.

He uses them as possession receivers because our guys running 4.7 are pretty much just that. Pitts with a 4.4 speed would allow more down field at the TE.
