Does anyone actually think that Jerry would show his hand before the draft? Unless it was a smoke screen?

He wouldn't have to trade up for him. TE's are taken in the top 10 picks. The closest to that was Gonzalez who went 13th. Here's something else to think about. Teams, GM's, owners make it appear they want a player before the draft. It's called gamesmanship to keep the other teams unsure who they really are looking at.
.
.
That was before the days of Kelce and Gronk - I think he goes top 10.

Who is this different Jerry Jones that you speak of?

Jerry is far from a cool customer in situations like this. He's been known to have loose lips and say things he shouldn't. So it should not be a surprise to anyone that Jerry may have said something to someone that got back to a reporter.

I could see him being Evan Engram, or Eric Ebron. Very few 1st Rd TE live up to the billing they get pre-draft.

LOL,,, thats not a nice thing to say about David LaFleur. After all, he came highly recommended by Troy Aikman. You know, the guy many on this forum say he would be a great GM. Seriously, though, i agree most of them do fall flat, or just do not play up to the hype. We shall see with Pitts. Atlanta should stay at #4 and pick him.

When it comes to the draft, I disagree. You're entitled to your negative opinion.

Chances are we would know. Probably not this early.

but it was known the cowboys were gonna take Trysten Hill and LVE before the draft. But more like a couple days before. Bot a few weeks

We will probably have a good idea who their top target is a few days before the draft.

We knew before the Martin draft that Jerry was infatuated with Manziel. It was well reported at the time. Jerry confirmed it after the draft he was bullish and wanted to draft him but was talked out of it by Stephen and the scouts. Same thing about Paxton Lynch. It was reported before the draft the Cowboys and Jerry wanted him and after the draft Jerry admitted that they wanted him and even were close to making a trade with Denver to get up to grab him.

If you honestly think Jerry is tight lipped about this stuff, you just haven't been paying attention.

Yes.. They do it all the time.

It's more rare when our first pick is a surprise.

Mortenson isn't a good enough source. Usually it's the draft show that gets the best information because a lot of them work around the guys making the decision.

This is how we know a guy like Trysten Hill will most likely be their pick.

lets make this final

tired of talking peach Pitts

THE ENTIRE LEAGUE AND FANS ARE INFATUATED WITH PITTS NOT NEW NEWS..NOT SMOKE..THE MOST OVERHYPE PLAYER OF THE 2021 DRAFT=PITTS..

going to be crazy if this guy is just good but never HOF Great you know like Dez had some nice years didnt last long enough to be considered HOF material..if Pitts can even come clos eto doing what dez did 3 straight years, ill be shocked..wake up..hype is hype .. Dez put up 75 tds in under 8 seasons and 3 years over 1200 yards each , lets see this dude live up to that let alone this hype and dez around here fans say he was overrate done trick pony, those 3 years say otherwise add his PR threat etc Man Pitts better be better then that

now he will have to live up to it and not just produce but he better be the best wr/TE in the league the next 10 years or its FAIL!
Dez also had Romo as his qb...you saw what happened when dakota took over, all the receivers forgot how to play.

I would.

Rare mismatch player vs a bunch of non impact guys that don’t change games..

If a 1 & 3 gets it done on draft day I’m all for it.

This team is making to many smart decisions that get us nowhere.. Go draft an impact player.

LOL............of course you would. 100% you are right on cue on the wrong side of the argument. Not shocked at all. And to make things worse, you want to "trade up for Pitts".

Not only do you want to draft a TE with our top 10 pick you want to ruin the entire draft doing it. :lmao::lmao::lmao2::lmao2::lmao2:

I have literally never seen a poster that understands the game of football less than you do.

Too bad your hero Dalton didnt have Pitts last year, maybe he would have scored more than 20 points a game. :muttley:

No. Just Dez. Keep running with this though. The guy hasn't been relevant since he left the Cowboys and it was all because of Dak? Couldn't have anything to do with his body breaking down, or the fact he never took the time to learn how to run routes? Dez failed when his body failed because he was so used to out muscling people that when his body started slowing down he didn't have a fall back. People blaming Dak for Dez's shortcomings is such a lazy argument. Romo also had years to practice with Dez, and was in the league for a while when he was drafted. But i guess experience means nothing lol.

100% smoke and now I’m sure we aren’t drafting him.

btw, if this rumor is true how are those meaningless wins treating you right now Jerry? Did the players get some kind of confidence boost headed into next season because of them? Lol

:lmao2::lmao2::lmao2::lmao2::lmao::lmao::lmao::lmao:

WOW!!!!!

YOU WERE THE ONE WANTING US TO WIN!!!!

You were the poster child for rooting for wins and Dalton to look good doing it.

So how did we almost have 3 1000 yard receivers in 2019?

How did Dak come 1 yard shy of breaking the Cowboys all time passing record from Romo?

If the receivers forgot how to play?

What did Dez, Witten, Gavin Escobar, Terrance Williams ever do after they left the Cowboys? Did they forget how to play?
