With Booger in charge of the draft, there have been two positions historically relegated to the back seat, if not the trunk., DT and S.
He has set neither the draft or FA as a priority to address these two positions. Johnson used a 1st overall pick on a DT and Parcells signed the best FA since FA began because they saw the critical need to stop it up the middle first.
Booger doesn't see the DT as sexy and thinks the glamour secondary position is CB when every good D is anchored by strong S play.
The answer is I am upset by the lack of attention to the front and back end of the hourglass of a good run D. Will Parsons anchor the middle of that hourglass? Time will tell but they needed an upgrade to what they have there now. And they need DT's to keep the OL off the MLB.
They ignore the significance of the S position in the draft and ignore the contributions FA players like Washington and Teague made.
But worst of all, they ignore the critical importance of Darren Woodson to the teams he led on D and just what happened when he retired.
Booger, in his quest for stars, completely ignores the star power of Lott, Polamalu, Reed, Taylor, Thomas, Chancellor and Collins and before them Adderly, Harris, Atwater, Krause and Wilson.
I can understand the wide bodies up front not excited him but I believe a great D begins with a great S, he's the QB of the D.
