Good luck finding one post of mine, just 1, where I said that. My dislike for Dak has to do with his greed. All his personal stats look great......... for him alone. I would rather see what the team had under Aikman. He never put up big numbers - he didn't need to. He never took Jerry to the bank without having earned it either. Aikman was pure business and winning football games, and I have a very hard time saying the same thing about Dak.

I get wanting the trophy as proof to pay, its not realistic in todays NFL but i get it. I dont get you saying you think Dak is not trying to earn it, nothing about him says he will not work his arss off to bring a trophy. This is generally where the arguments start but there are 32 teams and like 15 Maybe qaulity starting QB's .....How many current QB's have a ring? being paid after bringing home a trophy left this league a while back.

Which was incidentally right after he won super bowl 27 and was named super bowl MVP. Kinda earned it, wouldn't you say?

That is neither here nor there. This notion that Aikman made sacrifices that Dak wouldn't doesn't hold water.

Frankly paying for past services is stupid business as evidenced by the cap pickle we were in because of that contract when Aikman was forced to retire.

I don't doubt Dak is working hard, and he will have to do so even more now that he has created these gigantic expectations for himself because of the new contract. I wouldn't want that kind of pressure..........

But I did have issue with his comment, after his new contract was announced, that now was the time to go after a super bowl. I don't recall him making such proclamations at any time prior to the new contract. It sounded like it wasn't that important but now, after the big pay day, now its time to strive for that. It left a bad taste in my mouth.

Aikman retired 21 years ago. Are you trying to say Dallas is still paying for the contract he was given in 1993, 28 years ago? In the end Dak's contract will cause far more cap hell than Aikmans ever did.

I think he meant that the constant reminder about negotiations from everyone was behind him and everyone could get back to focusing on moving forward. I dont know him so i cant be certain but im pretty sure he didnt mean he was holding back before the contract. He probably knows he has the pressure rihgt on him now also. Hopefully the moves they have made can help and he has to perform better than ever for sure.

No and that should be obvious by my use of the past tense verb "were."

How about you admit that Aikman went for top dollar just like Dak did and admit you were wrong?

"Dak's Impovement by year"?

Nah...he better prove it THIS year. I don't care what he ate last night, also.

What would he have to do to prove it to you this year? Record, individual play...what would you say "this is what I want to see"

It's sad that you allow somebody on a message board to get to you the way you allow me to. I'm in your head. Rent Free.

Mr. Emotions.

you approach never fails. so consistent...
....you lose the argument...then your response is "my opinion", then its "you are obsessed with me", then its "you are so emotional" and lastly, "I am living in your head"....same approach, each time. never fails. never digresses.....very predictable.
so what's with all the insecurity you feel?

btw, like I said, you are my head rent free and you are losing out...like I said I should be paying you... your grace. oh you are so so so so smart. you should be on the cover of NFL Einstein magazine.

Gotcha on the 'were' part. I read that afterwards. You're second sentence - there's a huge difference in what Aikman got back in 1993 compared to what Dak just got.

There was no cap back in 1993, and salaries had no effect on the team. The 2.5 mil Jerry paid didn't hurt anything but Jerry's wallet. Jerry could have given him 100 mil a season back then and it still wouldn't have caused any harm to the team at all. A lot of jealousy, yes, but it wouldn't have prevented Jerry from putting pieces around him.

Dak's contract, on the other hand, is absolutely going to hurt the team at some point. And I agree, its not just Dak taking owners to the bank, its happening with every other team. But I don't care about the other teams, I don't follow them. I care what stupid contracts do to the team I have followed for nearly 50 years.

His contract will get past up quickly, also the cap is about to take a huge jump when the new TV deal is signed.
