He’s neither. He’s a promoter. A salesman. And we have bought in . It’s really sad. There’s only one way to get his attention.

I don't agree. I think Jerry truly believes it based on what he has said over the years.

He is a promoter. He is a salesman. But that doesn't mean he isn't delusional.

Only thing he believes is he’s determined to see it thru so he can remain the man. And he’s sold this . Some even believe him. That’s salesmanship.

If anything it’s desperation because his biggest fear is losing support from the fans. As long as we are in then he can continue.

I'm comforted by his age.

You are well into the back 9 of the Jerry era.

Then what? The Vice President and Director of Player Personnel - the son who has been by his side for decades - takes over?

What is he going to do differently? He's only worked for Jerry. The family business will continue as is, only a different Jones will be handed lofty titles.

What's it going to be then, eh?

What’s really pathetic is our fanbase continues to support him financially. We obviously are sending him the wrong message.
Merchandise is his big deal.

Stop buying the hats to rep the team.

But I don't think our fans could do that.

They are more comfortable being fan foils.

An owner who won't fire the GM and the Director of Player Personnel (Stephen), who have failed for 25 years, is not a great owner.
Right

He’s like a crappy father or husband but he’s a good provider. Everyone has money but no ones really happy.

He’s a great CEO. Has created the most valuable sports franchise in the world.

If I owned stock in the Dallas Cowboys then I'd appreciate that. But as a fan it does nothing for me. Not sure why any fan would even care about that.

He won't change the organizational structure, which allows him and Stephen to play fantasy football, so he's not being honest with himself (or the fans).

They are addicted to the perception. And that’s fine if that’s all they want.

I’m just saying if we really wanted to bring about change we always hold the power . But it takes effort and sacrifice.

Jerry just say thank you Tex and move on.....

Tex, Tom and Gil. Then give an assist and thank God Jimmy was his roommate in college. With those 4 men you have the Dallas Cowboys.

Yep

Without Jimmy early success , Jethro would have been run out of town years ago with the type of results we’ve had this era.

I don't think he fears that because he knows if it hasn't happened by now, it's not going to. Dallas is the most profitable NFL team by far. In fact, it was the most valuable sports franchise in 2020, according to Forbes, and for the fifth year in a row.

He doesn't have to do much selling, except to convince himself that he's still the best GM option for the team.

Then we shouldn’t complain if we aren’t going to make any attempt to stop him.

We don't have the power to stop him. The notion that millions of Cowboys fans are going to unite and boycott the team into change is fallacious.

We can't even get the small sample of fans who inhabit this forum to agree on a single topic.

I agree that if he hadn't had that early success, primarily because of Jimmy, things might be different. Jerry falls back on that as proof that he's a good GM. However, he fails to acknowledge that it's because Jimmy was pretty much running the team.

I only say might be different because Jerry's got a huge ego that might not allow him to ever see that he's not a good GM, even with no Super Bowls.

I understand but like with any movement it takes a cumulative effort. Have to start somewhere.
