Based on all we know, would Dak be a first round pick

My feelings aren't hurt. But if you've played, then don't play any more.
We all come from different walks of life and have been exposed to information at different times in our lives.
Who are YOU to tell people what is appropriate for them to discuss just because it doesn't comport to YOUR experiences?
That is why I said if this topic bothers you, move on. Ignore.
But in your self-glorification, you want to preen through this forum announcing, "LOOK AT ME, I'M ABOVE THESE TRIVIAL 'WHAT IF' GAMES."
Okay, good, you've told us you've played them 40 times since you were young and are bored.
Some of us, however, like playing the game. You know where you can go if you don't like it. ;)

P.S., you can't "prove" anything from hypotheticals. Hypothetical scenarios like these are merely to prompt discussion. Discussion triggered. :)

Glad your feeling aren't hurt. (They truly are which is obvious but whatever)
If you don't want opinions don't ask for opinions.

If you want to ask for opinions then complain, moan or cry about the opinions you receive than you're on your own.
If you choose to waste brain cells on something that can't be changed, well.....I'll just stand aside and see if your head breaks the wall.

Your choice.

if the draft were held today? High first? Middle first? Lower first? If not first, which round do you think he would go in?
Take into consideration the players who were available at the time he was picked and those available in the first round.

P.S., if you're tired of Dak threads, then simply bypass this one. Exercise your right to ignore or try to have a civil discussion.
Thanks.
He was definitely the best quarterback in his draft , I would say yes. Mid to late First round. Possibly top 10 depending who else was there. A guy like Parsons if he’s as great as what everyone thinks he is.. Do you take him over a quarterback. Definitely would not take a wide receiver or running back Over him. What a great defense of tackle or an offensive lineman. It’s hard

Yes, but in a redo?
I doubt teams are going to force taking a quarterback if they know ahead of time he's going to be less than spectacular.
Besides, if all quarterbacks are that valued, teams wouldn't start taking other positions until all the available quarterbacks are gone. Shrug.
The successful QBS (in your hypothetical) would be drafted early, the unsuccessful ones wouldn't be drafted at all. A lot fewer QBs would be drafted in the top 5 than there are now, but all the decent ones would go there.

Think about how teams draft QBs now. They don't know the future, they know that these guys carry huge bust risks, and yet they are not only willing to spend top picks on them, they're willing to massively overpay in trades to get to the top of the draft to take them. If you can draft a QB who's guaranteed to be a solid starter for you for a decade--and you're not lucky enough to be able to get Mahomes or Wilson--of course you'd spend a top draft pick for that guy. One of the huge benefits of doing that is that you don't have to spend your 1st-round picks on QB for a long time after that, which helps you build the team around your guy.

The QB position is simply that much more valuable than any other position on the field.

Jesus how far will people go to pump up Dak. This thread really is desperation at its finest.

You don’t take a player in the first round if you don’t think he’s elite. No matter how bad you need a quarterback. Your backpedaling In this case we know he elite. That’s why we paid him
You think the Patriots think Mac Jones is elite?

He's making 1st round money so I guess the question was already answered by Jerry paying him. I just want to see him play like a top 5 quarterback this season.

Answer the question. Do you take him in the first round and we’re. I said mid to late depending on who is there. And I like Prescott better than most

Hindsights always 20/20

However keep in mind he did play at a lesser known school Miss St. so even if he balled out in NCAAs like he has in NFL level (to an extent) I still don't think he would be picked that high due to lesser competition

I am glad we stole him at the 4th round though. Not many franchises get this lucky.

For me, a hindsight answer is dependent upon two factors. One, the three actual clubs that picked quarterbacks in the first round. And two, the fourth franchise, Dallas, who eventually selected Dak Prescott in the fourth round.

Pick 1 - Rams: Traded Jared Goff to the Detroit Lions, which is definitely a vote of no-confidence
Pick 2 - Eagles: Traded Carson Wentz to the Indianapolis Colts, ditto
Pick 26 - Broncos - Child please!

Impression: Prescott would have gone either number 1 or number 2 overall, depending on how intellectually honest either Los Angeles or Philadelphia's front office would now be if questioned who they would have drafted knowing what they know now.

Back in the spring of 2016, Jerry Jones was hoping to land the successor to Tony Romo and used a fourth rounder on Prescott. Jones knows now what he did not know back then, which begs the question: "Would Jones had moved heaven and earth to trade up with either the Rams or Eagles to grab Prescott?

One must also keep in mind that, at that time, he had Romo as his starting franchise quarterback. What would Jones have done knowing what he knows right now?

So why are you here? To *@#$ on everyone else's opinions or the thread starter's efforts to attempt to provide discussion and civil conversation?
You realize you haven't added anything to the conversation you hoped to start? Kind of makes your rationale obvious.
