Dak is not good against good teams

The bottom line is Dak did what he did against a top 2 or 3 defense while Brady did what he did against a bottom 2 or 3 defense. Hence what Dak did was far more difficult and thus far more impressive. If people are unwilling to acknowledge that then their agenda is clear. No real Cowboy fan is happy about a loss.. but we should be allowed to be VERY encouraged by what our QB put out there the other night.. If we get that consistently this year 13 wins is almost a given. The defense can be expected to improve as they get more comfortable with Quinn's system and he gets a better handle on what guys can and cannot do. But let's face it, this is never going to be a shutdown defense. If we are up one score or less at the end of a game I have zero confidence that we can hold any good QB from marching right down the field. So that means the offense has to be up at least two scores to end games or end games with their hands on the ball. That's the only way I'm going to feel comfortable at the end of any game this year.

Neville Gallimore, Malik Hooker and Kelvin Joseph are coming. Micah Parsons should improve.

Dak played very well Thursday night. I think the Bucs played sloppy and the turnovers kept the game close, but the Cowboys lost and I don’t see much to be happy about. It was the type of game that Dallas typically loses.

Who’s happy about it? Show me where someone who has said they happy about the lost. You won’t find anyone. You will find plenty who were happy about Dak playing at such an elite level after comeback from such a gruesome injury. And you will find plenty of posters who are NOT happy about that.

I know it's not just his fault but Dak's record against winning teams the past 3 years is not good.
He's 5-13 the past 3 seasons.
He threw for a lot of garbage stats in many of the losses and hasn't performed at a top level.
For a 4th round pick, he was given a lot of deference.
But now, he's compensated as a Top level QB and he is expected to perform as such and find a way to overcome deficiencies outside of his control.
The Top QB's tend to "find a way" and that's what will be expected of Dak.
I hope he can deliver.

‘….find a way to overcome deficiencies outside of his control.’

Maybe there’s been something more dumb written in these forums, but I don’t know where I’d find it.

Dak Prescott plays QB on the offensive side of the ball. He can’t impact the defense and he doesn’t call plays. The only thing he can do is execute the plays that are called for him.

Teams that score 28 points in the NFL win something like 80+% of the time. Not the Cowboys, and not only is that not Dak’s fault, there’s nothing he can do about it.

Take Thursday’s game: We were prohibitive underdogs. Dak MORE than did his part to ensure a victory. The loss had exactly nothing to do with him. If you didn’t like the game plan, that’s a coaching issue. If you didn’t like the 4 easy points we left on the field, that’s a special teams issue. Dak put up 28+ points (29 that should have been 33). That’s what he gets paid to do. He can’t throw and catch. Catching is #88’s job. Had #88 done HIS job, we win the game. Period.

TB is a better team than the Cowboys. To beat them, EVERYBODY had to do their jobs very well.

Dak did his. Look for someone else to blame.

P.S. For the rest of the season (and looking back on prior years), remember that 28 point rule. If the offense scores 28+ points, they’ve done their job. It takes a complete team to win in the NFL, not just a stud QB.

Did Dak have a last min winning drive with a TD to Coop to put the game away?
Was it a 1st down to eat the clock down to 3 sec for a winning FG????
We Won hurrayyyyyyyyyyyy!!!!!

Hello, can anyone confirm the above Dak greatness???????????????????????????
well, did you actually watch the game? or is it the same BS you spew about all the time....

did you see Dak complete a pass to CD down the left? did you see CD run and then run out of bounds....CD was an idiot and Moore a bigger idiot to not tell him to stay in bounds.....

you can't be this stupid....no one is, well, perhaps you are a trend setter

If Jarwin makes that block, the Cowboys most likely would have won. But, some can only at what Dak didn't do, when other players on the offense made mistakes or miscues that stopped the Cowboys from putting more points on the board.
that play call was Moore's fault. either call a different play or have a different personnel group. everyone knows Jarwin sucks at blocking, and yet the play called for him to be isolated in a block!!! I wasn't suprised he whiffed. I was screaming at the TV cussing Moore for putting him in that position. utterly stupid by Moore

well your 45 million dollar dreamboat got them a FG and left time on the clock. Shouldnt an elite QB be driving for the endzone when playing the SB champs on the road. Just like I thought Brady is a Mercedes and Dak is a Chevy. This is nothing I havent seen before!
well, the head coach should have told the players to stay in bounds and eat up the clock...case and point when Dak completed a pass down the left side to CD and he ran afterwards, and ran right out of bounds...the stupid idiot.....he should have gone down before going out of bounds to keep the clock running....so yeah, Dak did his job, completed the long pass, put us in FG position but stupid CD and Stupid head coach and OC who didn't tell the players what to do....same thing happened earlier in the drive......

but I get it, you want Dak to also be the head coach of the team and tell the assistant coaches what they should do and coach the WRs too.

This is the 2nd time you've responded in the past two days to my post from a week ago.

Give it a rest, Rocky. I've not had a bad thing to say about Dak's performance. Your agenda has shown BIG TIME the past two days.

"I told you so's" are just like "moral victories". The only people that care about em are losers.

You said he doesn’t play well against good teams. Man up and admit you were wrong. You won’t. You can’t. You don’t have it in you.

One good game does not make up for all the bad performances he's had against good defenses in the past. If he shows consistency going forward then my opinions will change, but I'm not going to be a prisoner of the moment here and do a 180 after ONE GAME. He played great and I have done nothing but give him credit for it, and you know that.

We have no idea how good or bad the Bucs D is right now. You're basing it off last year. You should know that teams can be different every year. Their defense might not be anywhere as good this year as it was last year. Again, we know nothing after 1 game.

You are by far the happiest person after a loss that I've ever seen. What do you REALLY care about, Rocky?

Here, let me help you out. I thought Zeke was going to have a big game. I had no idea that the Bucs run defense was that good. All I had to do was look at how they did last year and I would’ve known that they were. So I was totally wrong and was ignorant thinking Zeke was going to be huge in this game. See how easy it is to admit you are wrong? And spare me the “I’m happy about a loss”. I’ve been watching this team probably long before you. Nothing pisses me off more than a Cowboys loss so quit with that ****.

I've said multiple times since Thursday that Dak played great. What in the world are you looking for me to say here? If you're looking for me to completely change my views on Dak after one game then you're not getting that from me. That takes doing this consistency against good defenses. I said that I am 95% sold on Dak, but I'm not being a prisoner of the moment and crowning Dak just yet, the same way I wouldn't be calling Dak a bum if he plays horrible next week.

You're getting me mixed up with some of these real Dak doubters. You've lumped me into the wrong category, Rocky. I root for Dak and will continue to do so because he is the Cowboys QB. I can't wait to see how he plays next week. In fact, I HOPE he was rusty Thursday, because if he was rusty then that means he's going to be even better going forward.

The defense gave him two TOs in scoring position, one of them because Fournette dropped a wide open screen right into the hands of our defender. The defense basically gave Dak points….

I literally told you a week ago that if Dak plays well I'd give credit where it's due and I've not had a single bad thing to say about his play and I've gave him a lot of props for it. I'm a man of my word.

You on the other hand are not. You are happy as can be in a loss because Dak played well. You're showing that's all that matters to you. You're in the business of "moral victories" and as long as you can brag about Dak's play you're happy.
Fair. Absolutely fair.
I give you propers.
Whatever that's worth. Probably nothing.

I’m just looking for you to keep saying stuff like that. He’s in his 5th season. This ain’t his 1st game. He was ROY and has been playing lights out since he entered the league. Jeez, he outplayed one of the best Cowboys QB’s in Romo. He’s outplayed Rogers, Brees in games and just outplayed the GOAT! So when you say you’re not going to change your mind after 1 game, you expose yourself as not knowing what the hell you’re talking about.

Which is what you want.
The team couldn't finish the job from top to bottom, but they put up a good fight.

I'm not into moral whatevers, but the team showed up and now we shall see if this game was a 1st-game-of-the-season fluke, or that this team can hang with the best.
