Serious question, Bob.

If you replaced the QB on those 18-20 teams with Dak that you're referring to are they really THAT much better? How many of those 18-20 teams have QBs that would look good with all the weapons Dak has had in his career?

Dak has been very fortunate when it comes to the talent around him where a lot of these QBs are ruined by bad situations. So, although you're right, there are probably 18-20 teams looking for a QB, that doesn't mean those 18-20 QBs wouldn't thrive just like Dak if only they had the luxury to start in the same situation with the immense amount of talent Dak has been surrounded with.

Name a QB for a current winning team or playoff contending team that doesn't have a good roster or talented weapons around him.

I am not happy but I know what could be, Ryan Leaf, Chad Hutchinson, Drew Henson, Vinny Testaverde, Quincy Carter, etc, so I guess I am ok with it for now.
Right. Who is this dysfunctional ownership going to replace him with? It certainly could be worse .

The great one had not one but 2 chances to go down and win the game. How these Dak lovers can defend this shows where their real loyalty lies. It’s not about winning SBs. It’s about keeping Dak under center and dumbing down the Cowboys.

Yes, he started the season strong but has struggled a bit after his injury.

I think he has lost some confidence in himself and his protection but he will work through it and get back on track.

This team is set up to finish strong with all the players they will be getting back, let's see how things play out before throwing him under the bus.

I'm going to post this from Bill Parcells. I think a lot on here respect Parcells. I think if you were to ask Parcells, he'd tell you he'd like Dak as his QB. Why? Because Dak seems to abide by these commandments for the most part. He's the cool hand that steers the ship when things go bad usually. He typically handles the personnel well. He's well aware of the clock. He is the battle tested leader Parcells talked about. He's entertaining and has a good time, but isn't the class clown. He keeps to the team with football matters as far as I can tell. Notice the way he uses his legs and hips to throw, which is a check on that commandment to use his legs to throw. He knows his job. I'd concede he should run more, but Dak knows his job cold as far as I can tell. He's the same person each game. He throws the ball away when needed. By and large, I think Parcells would enjoy coaching Dak if he was still coaching here.

As Parcells would tell you, if your QB usually abides by these commandments, he'll be fine, and I think we're in good hands with Dak for this reason.

Derek Carr
Lamar Jackson
Joe Burrow
Carson Wentz
Jayon Hurts
Mac Jones
Jimmy G

Dak 100% has more weapons than all of those guys. Dak arguable has the most weapons of any QB in the NFL and has had that luxury since he entered the league. Some guys have 1 or 2 weapons, some guys like Jackson or Jones have ZERO elite weapons, but none have as many as Dak. Any of the above QBs would have success with this Cowboys roster, but i'm not sure Dak would have the same success as those QBs on their teams.

Let me ask you this. What exactly does Dak do that's "great"? What does he do that sets him apart? I can't think of a single thing Dak has that is actually special when compared to actual top QBs.

Great hands but no SB as long as he’s under center…mark it!

Some of you have no clue how tough it is to find a damn good QB like Dak.

Chicago-Detroit in the early window should’ve been required viewing for you people who think QBs like Dak grow on trees.

1st round pick Andy Dalton vs #1 overall pick Jared Goff.
I don’t believe Andy Dalton was a 1st round. He was 3rd round if my mind isn’t failing me.

prescott has been so disappointing since the patriots game. i just can not see this team winning a playoff game with him this year. i did not vote because i am in the middle with him now.
That’s where I’m at.

I think he will win a ring before the end of his career. He's got good skills, and this team is heading the right direction. I just hope, unlike with Romo, Jerry stays on top of the oline to keep it strong. I think that's a key part. I also think Dak should be allowed to use his legs more. This league isn't one for statue QBs anymore. Dak needs to run more, and the coaches need to green light it more. Let Dak be Dak on that.

Given the way the team has played recently, I thought it would be good to gauge the general feeling about Dak on the site now and then revisit it after the season is over.

As always, I do not provide easy-way-out options in my polls. If you are unable or unwilling to vote, that is fine, but the ones who do vote will speak for you.

To protect fans from harassment from both sides of the debate, this poll will be anonymous so no one will see how you vote.

Yes, he is a great quarterback.

Let me as you this. What exactly does Dak do that's "great"? What does he do that sets him apart? I can't think of a single thing Dak has that is actually special when compared to actual top QBs.

Most of the QBs you named and mentioned either has a great/elite head coaching, a talented roster, a good defense. or has great RBs/WRs/offensive weapons. The Eagles still have a record below .500 and the Niners 5-5, Wentz is best when he has a running game to help him out and has a losing record when he doesn't have a successful rushing attack behind him. This was proven in 2017 when the Eagles had a top five rushing attack and then Wentz went 5-6, when they no longer had a rushing attack. Now Wentz has Jonathan Taylor, who got 5 rushing TDs in the Colts last game.

So my question remains the same, name a QB for a current winning team or current playoff contending team that doesn't have elite head coaching, a good defense or a top 10 RBs or and at least one or more of the best WRs currently in the NFL.

Jackson and Jones have elite head coaching, which makes a difference. Jones has the best head coach in NFL history on his side. So don't act like they don't have help. The Ravens had the top ten offense in rushing yards as in October. And still managed to win a game without Jackson because of their coaching.

What do any of the other QBs do that sets them apart, meaning when have any of them actually won a game completely by themselves?

Thanks. I couldn’t remember. I know I wasn’t impressed with him coming out from TCU. But then I wasn’t with Stafford coming out of Georgia either. Both seemed mistake prone.

There's a reason neither possess a playoff win. Yet, people here tell us they're still somehow better than Dak who's at least got 1 compared to them.
