Thing that bothers me is we don't beat bad teams. We destroy them. Yes style points don't count, but if you can dominate that way over a medicore team I expect more against a good team than what we showed yesterday.
I dont know how much of it is coaches giving too much respect and being overly conservative and I don't know how much is on the players.
We need to take some shots every game though. I dont want to hear about Dak can't throw the deep ball. He's done it over and over. He's capable but gets stuck throwing wr screens and bs. Take some deep shots, throw in the middle of the field, run sweeps and tosses and stop doing the same weak garbage. You can get away with a subpar offense vs the Giants, but come playoff time we need to play with a set of balls.
Oh and I want to see some GB rub routes with these wrs.
I agree with most of your post. I think the reason why Dak isn't as effective right now throwing long is that his OL isn't allowing him the generous amount of time he needs to throw accurately under duress. Some QB are accurate with long balls under duress but for some reason, Dak isn't. Maybe it takes longer for him to get comfortable with it than some others who do it naturally.
I think the staff realizes that and is reluctant to give him the go-ahead to try. Whatever is causing this to happen isn't being advertised by the staff. The OL might very well be obliged to improve on their pass protection before Dak is given the green light to fire away downfield. I really hope that's the hold-up but, I guess we'll see. I think Dak requires more time to process things than some other QBs do.
