The yellow arrow indicates where Biadasz tried spotting the ball (now look at Dak’s knee)

I will say I think our fans have a legitimate gripe about the ref not being quicker and on top of the play, but to say he shouldn’t have moved it is laughable.

You have a very valid point!

Why did the refs not even review the play? The ref who spotted the ball was way behind the play, Dallas screwed up, but so did the ref.
I sound like a homer, but I think if the play was reviewed, it would have been reasonable to give us 1 second on the clock because the ref was so dam slow getting in position. It was a delay of game on the ref!!!!!!!
If it were in Green Bay...they would have put the ball on the 1 and added 10 seconds to the clock.

again(for like the 5th time) lol
this thread isnt about dallas losing the game, dont you guys read before posting?
it isnt about they deserved to win.
I think the fans, US deserved to have a last play, even if it fails, even if it is just a int, I dont care, I just dont like the game ending with no last play
because the refs made sure the time would run out.

I dont really care that dallas lost, I do care about refs manipulating games though, everyone should , otherwise it will continue and get worse.

Ok. Dallas deserved to lose because in part , they screwed up the last play , not the refs.

Ok I know dallas bungled the last play, and they might not have scored anyway if they had 1 more play.
And they had a chance on previous possession.

But 2 things I find suspicious, that makes it look like refs were trying to help SF win.

1. the ref furthest from the spot where dak went down, was the only ref that came to spot the ball.
Is he the only one that is supposed to do that? or can other refs do that in that situation?
I think in another game someone said another ref did it.

2.the ref when he got to the ball, after dallas players did not know to let him thru lol,
but he gets to ball grabs it, then he wastes time moving it back about 8 inches lol.
Doing that meant center had to adjust backwards, so did dak and rest of players.

Mike peria sp , said the spot of the ball doesnt matter on a clock play like that. just touch it or put it down
and get out of way for team to clock it.
After the clock, then refs can determine proper spot of los, and that will be used for the last play.

So why did the ref move the ball back???????

Well the only thing that makes sense is he was killing the time, that took around 2 seconds at least.
Had he just touched the ball then there would have been 1 second left when it was clocked,
and dallas gets a chance on throw to EZ.

But it seems to me the powers that be didnt want dallas to have that chance.
if dallas had scored the game score would have been "over" no score there and it is "under"
plus if the money on dallas was for them to win, and under, then not letting dallas have another chance there
gave a 2 way win on the gambling angles, and a dallas score/td there means vegas loses on under, and if
dallas were to win in OT then they would lose other bets like point spread.

And maybe gambling comes out better if SF wins, because as we now know SF goes to GB and wins
a game most thought they would lose.

I dont think it is stupid refs, or sloppy reffing lol , I think it was intentional.
I also think the cowboys in their stupidity helped them to do it.

There also should have been a booth review, which there wasnt, I find that odd for an ending like that.
I know time was gone by time ball hit ground on the clock, but still a booth review was needed.
But no booth review, NY did not get involved like they usually do so why not??

I think if dallas had not screwed it up so bad and had time for 1 more play, and if they threw a td pass, there would have been a holding call, so they have to do it again, and if they score again, then another penalty lol.

it's over, gotta move on, but when you watch the last games, another ref is touching the ball to spot. Just my observation but the game was lost from the first drive

But I will say if the ref was coming from that far back then how did he know where the spot of the ball was.
1. The ref wasn’t in any position to determine the accuracy of the spot.

2. You in fact claimed the ref gave the Cowboys a generous spot, when you first tried to defend the ref, meaning you implicitly argued accuracy wasn’t the issue here.

3. The ball was spotted more correctly the FIRST TIME he actually moved it after running into the Qb and Center.

Post #79 if you care about truth.

This post among many of his, completely ignores the fact the ref moved it twice and the first move was WAY more accurate than the second, clearly revealing the ref had no clue what he was doing.

With this evidence there's nothing else to conclude other than the league is fixed.

I should have known. Why wouldn't you want your biggest ratings draw to never win anything?

you would have to expand on that lol have no idea what your referring to.

At the end of DeBo's run on 3rd down he was tackled with 1:13 on the clock. They stopped play for the measurement. After all that they set the clock to 1:04 and the play clock at :25. A 40 second play clock from 1:13 means the game clock should be :58 seconds. So there's 6 seconds.

As the clock runs down Shanahan calls timeout and it showed :38 seconds. When the penalized 4th down play is run the game clock is at :40. There's the other 2 seconds.

Smh, two things can be equally true:

1) the ref did give the Cowboys a favorable spot closer to where it should have been spotted; and 2) the ball was still incorrectly spotted.

You can’t compute that because you’re a binary thinker. It’s OK. You’re doing the best you can.

No, you were just flip-flopping your positions as the discussion went on, because as is clear, you spoke to soon and had no clue what you were talking about so you had to drum up excuses like “generous spot”.

Which is why in the same context you yapped endlessly about how Rams-Cowboys example the ref was wrong in that instant for not re-spotting the ball so that can’t even be used as an example in the Cowboys-49ers game…

Now suddenly you are saying the ref this time around was wrong like in the Rams-Cowboys game, which of course brings us once again to how often you keep contradicting yourself in this discussion..

To summarize the actual thesis:

The ref completely botched the last play period. It’s not that hard.

Would have even mattered if we got that last snap off? Maybe Dak could have ran another QB draw. Lol! Or maybe throw it to Shultz for 5 yards. Game was decided long before that last attempted snap.

the actual los judging by both refs standing on it, was the 25 yd line.
biadez put it just inside the 24, the ref grabbed it moved it back to almost the 25, then brought it forward to where the nose of ball was on the 24 yd line.

So he moved it back then up, all the while the clock is ticking, he was still off by a yard, so whats the point of him moving it.?
you can set the los correctly AFTER the spike. even mike P said the spot was irrelevant.

There was no reason for the ref to move the ball at all in that situation.
You can't set it correctly after the next play. Once that play is run the spot is the spot, and if you set it wrong the play before then it continues to be wrong. There are no retroactive corrections.

I already said the ref set it in the wrong spot. That doesn't mean it was intentional - if it was he would have backed the ball up more - your own comment indicates that. If he wanted to make it harder on the Cowboys why not back it all the way to the 25 and make the offense readjust as far back as possible. He probably actually just messed it up in a rush to try and hurry.

No, my position was made clear and hasn’t changed.

You’re left grasping at straws trying hang your hat on “Buh you said generous spot” as if that does anything for your argument.

The fact is you predictably have just obfuscated and been intellectually dishonest because your argument fell apart when you thought a center can place the ball anywhere he wants and the ref’s only role is to “touch it.”

Don’t be upset bro. You’re doing the best you can with what you were endowed with.

Precisely. There's a reason that a team tries to quick snap the ball if they think they've gotten away with a catch they shouldn't have because they know you can't go back and correct it once a new play begins. So I doubt Mike Pereira said such a thing unless there is a link. Even then he's probably wrong anyway.

Because Dak slid and he's down where he began the slide rather than where he gets up, or the NFL front office put out a directive to screw the Cowboys because they knew that's the only thing that has stopped them in 25 years.

Tough call...

they get big ratings win or lose lol , you should know that. been doing it for 25 years.
Also many people watch to see them lose or do really stupid stuff like at end of WC game.
I bet all the haters loved that play lol.
Plus win or lose, dallas games are usually exciting. and close.

and again, it is not about not wanting dallas to win, or they dont like cowboys on personal level, it is about outcomes of games
regardless of who is playing.

For example there are times when they would need dallas to score at end of game, so would help them,or need them to win.
It goes both ways.
It all depends on how the bets are played , where the money is at, if money is even they dont need to affect the outcome, as it would be a juice game.

watch the hl of that play on youtube, 1 vid had the last 30 min of game just jump to end.
I have the game, and he said it doesnt matter where he sets the ball down, and I think on a spike play they can set the ball on correct spot after the play.
