Was I suppose to cheer for Leatherface....because they sure made that pretty easy.

Agreed, wasn't terrible - wasn't great. Appears they went the Halloween route and this was a direct sequel to original and all the other ones do not exist.

They sorta threw in the tie to the original in there - felt like it was forced.

Yeah that part was more than obvious.
I think that might have been the first Texas Chainsaw movie that they tried to make it like he was the anti hero with a background you could understand why he was going after them.

Wasn't so much the anti hero - it was more of, is the world gonna miss that group of characters, probably not :D

For anyone interested. There are a few premier dates coming up on Netflix.

Vikings 2/25

The Last Kingdom 3/9
That's a nice surprise. I thought Vikings was over. I haven't watched Last Kingdom but have heard some good things. What do you guys think of that show?

this Vikings is brand new. Takes place 100 years after the last series. I really like the Last Kingdom. This is season 5 coming up. worth checking out if you like Vikings. Pretty similar. Great battle scenes etc.

Just want to say… this thread never steers me wrong. Whenever I see a bunch of posters - both regular and random - start posting how much they enjoyed something… I pay attention. Latest was the Peacemaker TV Show. Saw a lot of great reviews. I honestly paid for it so the wifey could get HBO Max and her Sex and the City sequel but decided to jump in on this show and glad I did. Would call Peacemaker the “Kickass Meets Suicide Squad.” If you enjoyed Deadpool, you’ll love this flick, albeit subtle darker themes. Wish there would be more inside DC jokes. Almost makes me sad to realize DC could be launching treats like this and at least competing with Marvel. Who doesn’t love the folklore of DC? Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, et al.

I dragged my feet on Peacemaker for some reason. Finally this weekend I finished up a show and thought, "eh, why not? I'll see what this is all about". I clicked on it and ended up binging the heck out of it. I loved every second of that show. Can't wait for season 2.

I liked The Last Kingdom a lot. There are some loose connections with history - very loose, but it's still a pretty good show. I think Season 5 is the last season. Can anyone confirm that?

The Sex and the City series "And Just Like That..." was awful. My wife watched it and I was sitting there when she did and it made me wretch. Awful writing. Ridiculous scenes that are almost laughable when they are supposed to be serious. My god, let it die already.

I just finished Reacher today. I liked the two movies, even with Tom Cruise - although I get it. That 5' nothing Cruise is not going to beat up many people of any height. But it was still fund to watch.

I like the series too, but not as much as some other people. To me it was pretty ordinary and the ending was so cliche, it could be confused with a Lifetime movie. If they do a second season, and the way this one ended there is no need to keep it going, but if they do I would make a few changes.

For one thing, when Reacher takes a crowbar to the head there have to be serious injuries. A thin metal bar is going to split the skin and probably make a serious dent in the bone, if not break it altogether. I would make the fight scene more one sided to avoid that silliness. After all, it is Jack Reacher. a 6'5" 250 lbs hulk is going to put away some of the lightweights he fought pretty quickly. I mean if Tom Cruise can beat Jai Courtney to death then I am pretty sure this Jack Reacher could whip some of those skinny guys he fought pretty easily. There is no reason to stretch out the fight scene because we all know who is going to win in the end.

I was reading today that The Batman (2022) will also be on HBO Max, but not until 45 days after it's theatrical run. I won't be able to last that long. lol I'm already making plans to hit the theater next Thursday. For those that can wait, sounds like it will eventually reach HBO Max.

I’ll be heading out to the theater for this one. I’m looking for excuses to get back there at this point.

I have been binge-watching Billions the last few weeks. It is a bit slow but I really enjoyed the first couple of seasons, but the deeper I get into it the more it appears to be jumping the shark. It is pretty clear they had no idea where to go with the storylines after season 3 so they decided to turn it into another woke crapfest.

Well, again, I know I'm late to the party here (like I was with Peacemaker), but I started Reacher yesterday. How much did I enjoy it? Well, I binged 7 out of the 8 episodes until I absolutely had to call it a night. haha

What a fantastic show, and, I agree with what I read from some of you earlier in this thread. Alan Ritchson makes a much better Reacher than Tom Cruise. Which I had many episodes left for tonight, but I will still enjoy having 1 last one.

Halfway through Peacemaker and am enjoying that and pitting that against the Disney produced Marvel stuff looks like premium vs network programming, R vs PG for sure.

The opening of Peacemaker is gonzo and I do not see how anyone could not start into it after watching that. And I've watched it up until when Robert Patrick shows up every time and laugh every time. HBO Max needs to provide a doc about the making of the opening. I'd bet they all had a hard time getting through that.
