The way the 49ers did it during their Super Bowl run a few years ago and continue to do it now is perfect for us I believe. They have a great defense and run game.

If we could replicate that then we'd be in business. I just do not think that our current ownership and coaching staff have that as a priority.
Oh I can bet you dollars to donuts Quinn wanted defense with that first pick. He knows what Parsons is.

We don't have a legit number 1 WR. In my opinion, and maybe they will step up and prove me wrong, we have a couple of solid #2's. There is nobody in the WR group that, right now, defenses are worrying about. My gut tells me by week 6 the conversation will be all about how Dak is struggling because he doesn't have an elite WR. Same as it was a couple years ago before Cooper came in via trade.
Ceedee in his 3rd year is poised to break out. He was our most productive WR last year and made the pro bowl.

While he has things he can certainly get better at, he is a very good player.

This narrative about Dak struggling based off of the start to the 2018 season where he had a serious lack of talent at WR/TE is seriously flawed. Ceedee and Schultze alone make the point silly.

Lamb dropped 8 balls on 120 targets last year....Room to improve for sure, but this is far from a major concern. Those numbers put him better than Deebo Samuel (10 drops on 121 targets) and Jamaar Chase (11 drops on 128 targets)

Plenty of really good receivers have had drop issues to start their careers and many were able to clean up the drops pretty significantly. Amari Cooper was one of the worst his first few seasons in the league at drops, now one of the better receivers in that category.
Glad this is something that great players can get corrected.

Hi Ranched,
I want to personally respond to you, as I have a lot of respect for you, and did not understand your criticism.
I have tried to be balanced in my views of the Cowboys, praise when its due and criticism when I feel it's deserved.
I like CD and have high hopes for him and hope whatever is causing him to drop some easy passes can get corrected.
He was high of the list of WRs for drops last season so it is a valid concern.
I have never called for Turnip at all, so not sure what that's all about.
Thanks for your time and have a great day !
Go Cowboys !

I believe you are misunderstanding her post. The first portion of the post is a response to the op. The 2nd portion is her stating her disappointment in you for falling for the op’s modus operandi.

i'm not predicting them to fail, but this isn't an accurate comment. there's only like 5 ish teams that don't have a probowl level wr on the roster right now.
I got 11 without even looking very hard.

We had more than that last year and still failed....

Who's the weak link then?
Everyone failed except the Rams then by your measure.

We had the #1 offense in the league. If we drop to 5, will it be so bad?

Think you may be right.
It was not clear to me and
I wanted to clear things up as I think a lot of Ranched.

We'll see soon enough I guess.

LOL, Lamb's drop percentage isn't that out of line with other top level WRs. Not sure why we keep having to have this conversation.

In 2021, his drop percentage was 6.7........... Cooper's was very good at 2.9%. But AJ Brown's was 7.6%, Travis Kelce was 7.5%, etc. Lamb's drop percentage isn't anything to get nuts about.
It's because some people have agendas, hence why they are chomping at the bit anxiously waiting to post anything negative.

Heck I run the same play over and over in practice until he gets it. No one ever got better by avoiding. Guy can make the difficult catches but needs to focus on easy catches.
That would seem to be logical approach for a coach, maybe @Ranching can chime in on this.
If I was coach, I would make CD keep running over and over constant reps on routes that are giving him issues.
Would do it with any player at all positions, but CD is supposed to be our WR1, and why I got called out a few times weeks ago... lol
Saying we have no WR1 on this team, but we have a lot or really good WR2s, we are stacked there.
CD needs to catch the damn ball if he want to carry the WR1 acknowledgement.

when I was high school those were the coaches favorite words. Do it again, if the play we were running was not to perfection we ran it again, and again and again. Until it was done right. As for Lamb I have confidence in him that he will be able to do the job. Does that mean every pass his way he catches? No but I don't think we will see many drops from him.

So true, and it takes 2 to tango, so Dak needs to deliver CDs pass, the good QBs know their receivers likes and dislikes, seems like catering but it takes chemistry to become better.
