Signed by Cowboys Cowboys signing Anthony Barr

I’ve seen post after post—people crying for this guy. Sign Barr, we need Barr, do something Jerry, get it done Cap Boy, blah blah blah. So they sign him, and now it’s “what a dumb move!”
Yeah very strange. One of the top three biggest topics since the draft has been how weak linebacker is and how there's no depth (your number two is on a one year prove it deal and your number three only played 9 defensive snaps last year) now people are genuinely confused why they added a 20 to 30 snap a game veteran

It's like geez whiz I wonder why they signed him ?

He seems a little over the hill… but I trust Quinn to have a plan to use him. Plus, at that price, I don’t blame them.
It was all part of the plan. Let him “season” in the NFL for 10 years and then bring him in and sell some jerseys. I am hearing whispers that they need to sell more jerseys so Staubach, Troy, Emmitt, The Playmaker and Witten will be resigned soon.

I thought it to be a joke before I saw the numbers, thats the price of depth on the cheap.
My question is why did Barr sign for so cheap, Im always paranoid I guess.
Reasonable question.

Because he’s getting old and has been hurt often. Frankly, he’s not worth much more… which is why he signed for $2M with $1M incentives.

That doesn’t mean that he can’t stay healthy or play well in a rotational role… but that is why.

I didn’t really want to sign him… but at that price, go for it.

Fine with me, but we were all hearing more money than that.

I just see the team using cap in very strange ways. You would think that at some point instead of wasting cap that the Cowboys would find a guy who can really be an impact player for them they would go and get that guy. Instead they penny pinch here and there and then pay a guy like Witten or some other washed up player who can sell jerseys. It’s really maddening.
For you, not for me...I just care about those on the field.

Thanks for info . I think he adds great depth at LB and a vet like him can be a help to # 11 .
Was the cheapest deal in the league for potential value, Eagles, Skins, Giants fans, all banging their fan heads right now.

If he signed here over Denver, makes me wonder how Denver possibly offered less

He is in the best shape of his life now he knows he can dominate and earn big bucks . Feel mow better now

Thats the twist right there, have to back track now and check vet minimums, sure seems like it is close.

Even kickers are in the best shape of their life right now, if you want to play in this league, you better be ... right?
