The 4th down throw was behind Brown

Because he is the starting QB. When you are the backup, you get more slack for mistakes and more praise for good plays. Just the way it is. Do I hold Dak to a higher standard than Rush? Yes, I do. He is taking a large portion of the cap and with that much money he should be making more plays, elevating the players around him, and winning the games. Is he better than Rush? Yes, no doubt. But the fact that we didn't look that much worse on Sunday is not exactly a ringing endorsement for Dak and his massive contract.
I mean he was the backup initially he took Romo spot. We didn’t look worse because you guys believe Dak’s first game is him. So compared to that yes Rush was a upgrade.

I could be wrong but I think that to this point in the season the Cowboys have yet to be flagged for a penalty on a running play. Knocking on my desk as I type this..

not sure about that, had a ton of penalties in week 1 about 4 that were pre snap penalties on offense that took us to longer yardage situation. I will say if Dallas want to run the ball then it becomes critical that they ease up on penalties. This past game offense was guilty of 1 penalty, which allows the Cowboys to stay out of long yardage situation and more apt to run the ball

Lol, what's the argument here? Dak can do that to? Funny how the Dak lovers are crawling outta their holes already. Thought we'd have some peace at least until he returns. :D

And yet here you are talking ish about Dak.

Where is that peace?

The interesting thing is that I initially thought throwing behind was the right throw but watching today I saw that the safety was really deep over the top and that leading Brown actually WOULD have been a better play. And I guarantee that if Dak made that same read and throw people would be falling over themselves pointing out all the open space out in front of Brown if Dak had led him. Which again.. is my whole point..
I disagree on 4th and two on our side of the 50 under duress after that Tampa Bay game.

If Dak made that throw and it was caught everyone would think it was a great clutch play. And that Dak had his mojo back.

Although early in the game that was a very important play. Things could have gotten on a bad roll in a hurry even with our great defense.

It's fair to disagree.. but I have seen plenty of evidence to the contrary over the years.. But yeah.. it was a monumentally huge play .. and I am glad it went our way..

Yes Brown stumbled a bit trying to gather himself for the leap.. but the leap was absolutely necessary.. If he doesn't get up the ball hits a cameraman somewhere.

Mind you this was not a bad throw.. It just wasn't the dime people made it out to be. It was 6 inches from being incomplete.

The depths to which you will sink LOL

This thread is funny. Everyone up in their feelings. Cooper Rush is terrible and he's got people shook.

You beat me to it. Not sure why Ronnie is doing this. He seems a pretty fair level guy. Odd.

Your kidding right? Ronnie does this all the time! He loves Dak and he will stick up for him anytime he gets the chance. He nitpicks Rush so his man love for Dak will make him go back to his happy place. He is NOT a fair level guy when it come to Dakky Doo.

What was arguably the biggest play in the game was really a late throw across the middle that Noah reached back and snatched out of the air.. Then the TD was high and outside and Brown had to climb the ladder a bit to go get it. Yet people have been downright giddy about how Rush "hit receivers in stride" and all that thinly veiled shots at Dak noise. If Dak makes that same throw to Brown all we would have heard was how if he woulda led him he would have had a chance to run after the catch. In reality throwing it behind was absolute the right ball placement because if he leads him Noah probably gets blown up by the safety and maybe even gets the ball dislodged and Cincy has the ball at our 40 yard line. It's probably a very different ballgame then.

The point of this is that you people talkin bout how well Rush threw the ball must have been getting a beer on the 5-6 near INTs he tossed. And why do I mention near INTs? Because people were beside themselves when Dak had a similar total of near misses in a game last season. And if I'm not mistaken we won that game too. This is not to disparage the game Rush had.. He had a nice game as a backup. He managed the game and didn't LOSE it. And made 5-6 throws when he absolutely had to in order to win it. I call that "Eli Manninging." I hope he does it 4-5 more times..
I get it. Dak's your boy. Honestly, if you take Rush's name out of your post, you could easily place Dak's name there. I don't see much difference between the two. Well...other than their bank accounts...

If you truly don't than that's pretty unfortunate. There's a significant difference that's not debatable.

Considering the Bears have only thrown like 48 times in total. That makes Fields look HORRIBLE. Like astoundingly horrible.
Given the field conditions week 1, and the fact they only threw the football 11 times week 2 it may not mean a whole lot. On the other hand the fact that they did choose to only throw 11 times against Green Bay may tell us a lot about the confidence they have in their QB.

I wouldn't even be mad about overlooking the details if that was the M.O. when Dak does the same thing and wins. If Dak had put up the kind of performance that Rush did and we won on a last second FG people would have been all over him. For the two lazy throws to the flat that would have turned into pick-sixes if DBs could catch. The throw behind Noah Brown the talk all week would have been how Dak "almost cost us the game because he was late with the ball on that 4th down play.." I realize that it comes with the dinner as a Cowboys fan ( thanks Coach Garrett) ... but sometimes it's just annoying as hell.

I think you are overanalyzing this, Ronnie.

The expectations are way higher(40x) for Dak. That comes with the salary multiplier he negotiated.

For our 40 million this year, Dak scored 3 points against the Bucs for the loss. For Cooper's $995,000 salary he scored 20 against the Bengals(SB runner up) for the win.

Fans have every right to hold Dak to a higher standard.
