Which Dak? The Dak who played in the Bucs game? or the Dak who played in the early 2019 season? It is kind of unfair to compare the 2 QBs now when we have only seen Dak play less than 1 game in 2022.

Let's see Dak play with this team a few games and I think it will be obvious.

Right now, I feel like Dallas should look for a QB in the next draft, even if they have to use a 1st round pick. They should move on from Dak when his current contract is up.

I prefer dak at a higher level of play. He needs to be able to run. I think with a capable backup now, you can run dak and let him play at 100% of his capabilities.

@Aerolithe_Lion, so you voted for Rush cause it's makes Dallas weaker?

I mean I'm guessing thats why as an eagles fan. Or do you believe he's the better Qb?

Yeah we can't protect him if it limits the offense. Let him play all out. Worst case Rush is back in.

Yeah, it’s silly to say he’s better at QB because he’s won some low scoring games while throwing for 200 yards. I think the switch to Rush has been a boon to Dallas’s psyche as they can’t be complacent (which has seemed to happen in past years), but Cooper’s only real impressive feat is not turning the ball over. Put him on a team without this D and he’ll look like a bottom 10 QB

I agree with you that our upside is better with Dak. However, I am yet to see Rush put in a position where he's forced to sling it. Last week was a good test when his run game failed.

I disagree on his only impressive feat though. He's has made some excellent reads and responding throws. It looked good during the game but watching the film has sold me further.

He may only be a bus driver, as many of us suspect, but I'd love to see what happens when he is forced out of that role. We will likely find out vs. the Rams or your eagles.

Let's be honest Jerry ain't putting Dak back in for either of those matchups. He wants him to come in and fly. Those teams are both buzzsaws.

Sadly I respect an eagle fans take more than a good deal of Cowboys fans, so I appreciate the response. Lol

Yep, ive gone Prescott, but as you say the lesser talented Rush does seem to get the Offense working at a fraction of the cost.

I truly believe we are in a positive situation. The last three games will hopefully inspire and propel Dak, after all..... the FO seem to have put an Offense and Strategy (and with an accepted healthy roster) to succeed. If and it's a big if Dak isnt able to advance this Offense or doesnt show the same chemistry as Rush appears to have with the gameplan and receivers then we now have a Plan B in Rush.
Well I think when dak comes back you will in a couple of games, see this current style of game planning go in the trash . It will go with rush.
They will go back to GP for dak and it will be same as before.

you must watch undisputed? this is exactly what they said and talked about today lol.

And you never know what jerry may do as for when he puts dak back in.

I think jones boys are curious about how rush will do against rams, so he will start Ram game.
Then it depends on how he plays in that game, and if they win or not, as to who gets the start for eagles game.

Agree. If the Cowboys win and Rush plays well, Rush will probably paly against the Eagles. If Rush then plays well vs the eagles and the Cowboys win, things will get pretty interesting around here.

If dak is playing like he is currently, I would play rush. Think rush as pure passer and game manager is better than dak.

I need to see him play this weekend against the Rams. If Cooper plays great, goes out and passes something like 22-28, 300 yards, 2 Tds and no picks and we win 24-10, it would be very difficult for me to say he should be on the bench.

I'd prefer neither, but as of right now I'd take Rush.

He just runs the offense better it seems and plays within his abilities instead of trying to do to much.

Rush is going to have to do more than what he’s doing if we’re going to score more points. The offense has only been okay so far with him at QB. We’re not going to keep winning trying to hold teams to 20 or fewer points every week and relying on our kicker because we can’t sustain drives and score TDs. If Dak could get back to his level of play from early last season the Cowboys have a potentially great team. We’re 3-1 because of our defense.

Rush does what is needed.

Talk to me about this when we lose a shoot out with him.

You may be hearing back from me after the Rams game. I can assure you we’re going to need a lot more from our QB as the season goes on. We’re only scoring 1-2 TDs a week but we’re only giving up 1-2 TDs a week. We’re winning games with defense and a consistent kicker. Brett Maher accounted for 12 points last Sunday. If he runs into a funk which is what happened to him the last time around with the Cowboys were going to be in trouble!

We're winning games and that's all that matters.

If we get in a shoot out and he can't perform then okay, but that's yet to been seen.

We’re not going to win a shootout unless our passing game gets a lot better and we stop having to settle for FGs. We’ll get shot full of holes if someone goes on a scoring spree. Although our defense has played exceptionally well it’s showing cracks against the run and eventually a good team with a hot QB is going to start find the endzone often and we’re going to be down something like 24-6 by the 3rd quarter. We can’t seem to score a TD until our opponent scores one, then we answer. It’s happened like that the past two weeks.

We'll cross that bridge if and when we come to it I suppose.

Until then I am happy with Rush just doing what needs to be done for us to have more points then the other team when that clock hits zero.

We’re winning because we’re playing some of the best defense we’ve played in years. I haven’t seen the Cowboys with a pass rush like this since the 90s. Rush isn’t being asked to do a ton because of how good our defense has played. We’re not giving up many points. If we get down to a good team 14-3 then we’ll see why he’s been a career backup QB. If you play great defense you can win with just about any QB if they don’t make mistakes. The Ravens won a Super Bowl with Trent Dilfer because they had a great defense. Brad Johnson won a Super Bowl because he was being supported by a great defense and pass rush. There’s been some average QBs take their teams a long way because they were supported by a great defense.

I won't join you in discrediting what Rush is doing by giving all the credit to the defense. The defense is playing great, that is true, but Rush is doing a heck of a job, playing mistake free football, and leading nice long scoring drives when we need it.

I am happy with his play and once again, until we lose in a shoot out, or we get down 14-3 with Rush and he can't bring us out of it, then believeing he can or cannot lead us to a win in that type of game is just hearsay and speculation.

I’m just keeping it real about Cooper Rush. He’s been solid, hasn’t made mistakes but our offense has been average and we’re scoring half the points we did last season. We’re just getting by with him. Anyone who’s watched the Cowboys and understands the game knows we’re winning with defense. If we had the defense we had back in 2020 and the inconsistent Brett Maher we had a few years ago we would be 0-4 right now. That’s just telling it like it is.
