Troy was definitely not the best of his era, but he was a great QB and leader.
That said, he struggled early when the team was weak. He excelled with a great OL, Run game, and deep receiving corps. He struggled again when all three were weak in the end.

Great QBs cannot be great without protection and receivers. They can be great with offensive support and still never win anything if their defense is weak.

Aikman sacrificed to do whatever the team needed him to do.

For Cowboys fans, Troy is legendary status and cannot possibly be overrated. Watch the 1992 NFC championship game versus the 49ers (in San Francisco) number three points against defense.

The windows for completion on many throws were like 6 inches. And he completed 24/34 for 2tds and no interceptions 322 yards. Both teams were titans and Aikman took two Super Bowls away from Young. Aikman was a postseason God. I hate where idiots on this board try to compare his numbers to other QBs currently playing. You don’t get to do that comparison without the other QB having at least 2 SBs and great stats in the postseason to go there.
