Good morning Pops and Friends

So, what is everyone doing for Thanksgiving? We're staying close to home and sharing Friendsgiving with our neighbors.

We used to travel far and wide to spend Thanksgiving with family. Lately, traveling around Thanksgiving has felt more like the Bataan death march, than an actual holiday. So, now we stay home.

I am making cream brulee and my world famous corn bread and wild rice dressing (which I shamelessly stoled from an Emeril Lagasse cooking show).

We have dinner timed such that dessert is served around kick-off.

I couldn't end without saying, glad to see you posting @GrammaJan and @Xelda

Oh, how 'bout them 'boys!

I am hanging out at home and since I have never liked traditional Thanksgiving food, I will be giving thanks over a lobster dinner, champagne and the fact I am here for what I thought I would not be here for this time last year. Last year was CC’s Last Thanksgiving so I will be celebrating the 1st Anniversary of CC’s Last Thanksgiving.

My last lab report was my best since this journey started and I am thankful for that, thankful that I get to spend the holidays in the resort which is really decorated nicely with Christmas lights on palm trees and I really enjoy being here during this time as it keeps my Christmas spirits high even if I can’t get high on Christmas spirits.

This has been a most interesting journey as I have looked at every holiday or event as the last I will ever experience and that adds a real importance to what I used to take for granted.

So, I know this can be a depressing time of year for some and believe me, I’ve been there too often. But if you really want to soak it in and truly appreciate it, think of this being your last one.

I am thankful to see the Popsadoodles back posting in this thread. It’s like our own homecoming. You guys are truly special.

Happy Thanksgiving everyone

The wife has the flu bug so it’s going to be her and I at home. I’m thankful for that.

Even with the bug, She’s still cooking. She just won’t sit down long. Hard headed and hard working woman. I’m thankful for that.

Hopefully the Cowboys will continue where they left off last week.

Happy Thanksgiving Pops and Popsadoodles! I'm thankful for all of you today and every day. In the mean time, I'm doing an old Jedi mind trick on Best Buy to lower the cost of my future refrigerator. It hasn't worked yet, but I am not deterred. This is not the price you want for your refrigerator. Also, throw in a couple of $100.00 gift cards while you're at it. NO! Not the $50.00 one! Let me start over.

Good afternoon Pops and Friends,

Our next big winter storm rolls in this evening. The timing is perfect as we we're still recovering from the Thanksgiving eat-a-thon... meaning, I have another excuse to watch football tomorrow as opposed to doing something useful.

Dad joke of the day:

Granddad: Why do girls hang out in groups of 3, 5 or 7?

Grandson: That's such an odd joke.

Good afternoon Pops and Popsadoodles! Christmas time is coming and apparently I was a better girl than my memory attests to. My house is freshly painted and I've got a new patio. Over the past few days, I've gotten a new concrete road in front of my home. Outside the sky looks like a Charlie Brown cloudy day. I'm waiting for Lucy to stroll across my yard and put up a sign up offering her professional opinion for a dollar.

My jedi mind tricks have failed with Best Buy. I've spent so much time looking at refrigerators. Last night as I pondered the interior of one, I thought I'd been looking too long and clicked off the page to save the food inside. After that, I realized I'm a hopeless doofus. My one saving grace there is I have my garage refrigerator that's close to 20 years old and still working.

Update, I got a refrigerator after typing about it to y'all. Thank all of you for your inspiration (even if you don't feel like you contributed - you did!). Woooooooooo!

LMAO...It seems like you're serious about trying to keep the food in the fridge fresh, which is absolutely hilarious! I can see myself doing that and either laughing my butt off or getting really mad at myself for turning into my mother.
