Free agency and the salary cap has been the biggest problem. He didn’t have to deal with either when he built his great 90s teams. Those teams got torn apart by free agency and the salary cap. Having to pay QBs 40+ million dollars per has made a difficult on everyone. The teams that have made bold moves the past couple of seasons have ended up in the Super Bowl. The Rams went all in with great players, and won it all in 2021. The Eagles went after some great players this past offseason and it’s paid off. Jimmy Johnson said it comes down to the players. He said the only reason he won championships and is in the Hall of Fame is because he had great players. The Cowboys don’t have good enough players. Our QB certainly wasn’t good enough when it came down to crunch time.
Duh.

If you are basically putting the whole offense on McCarthy, why would you want someone who didn't have experience working with him?

After the Nolan fiasco, I understand people not wanting to hire Mike's friends but as others noted, this will be Mike's last year if he fails. Might as well give him what he wants.

Dude, OC’s and DC’s are paid to trick people. Take the Football 101 for Housewives class. You need it.
The 90s Cowboys didn't trick anyone. They could tell you the play in the cadence and you still couldn't stop it.

Are you saying women don't know football?

Can't say if it's a good or bad hire but at least it's not the same ol story where Jerry pics the coordinators and players then fires the head coach when it all goes to shyte.

I’m saying you don’t. The 90’s Cowboys tricked teams all the time.

That simply isn't true. They had the most basic, simple offense in the league.

If you weren't talking about women why didn't you mention housewives?

He's been consistently bad at being an OC. He's a journeyman, at best, riding on his daddy's coat tails.

Akoye Video breakdown of OC Brian Schottenheimer.

Mike Solari new OL coach:
" Additionally, it would be hard to justify maintaining Solari's position purely on the merit of his pass protection influence. After all, keeping the quarterback clean has been a never-ending issue for Seattle, leading to 204 sacks of Russell Wilson and Geno Smith over the past four seasons, with the former absorbing 191 of those. Solari's offensive lines have also allowed a whopping 689 pressures, per Pro Football Focus.... "
