Despite the talented roster, the team still has around $24 million in cap space, according to spotrac.com. This currently ranks as the third most in the NFL, behind only the Chicago Bears ($32M) and the Carolina Panthers ($28M).

9NEWS’ Mike Klis said on June 7 that there are “seven teams that have serious interest” in Risner’s services. Spotrac.com currently has Risner’s market value at $9.2 million per season.

While $9.2 million certainly isn’t cheap, the Cowboys only have one legitimate question mark heading into the upcoming season (besides kicker). The team still does not have a clear answer on who will play their left guard position. With all-time great OL Tyron Smith returning on a re-worked deal, and OL Terence Steele working his way back from his torn ACL and MCL suffered last season, there are many question marks regarding what the official five up front is going to look like for Week 1. LT Tyler Smith played so great for the Cowboys in his rookie year with the team, however, he may be forced to move into the left guard spot because the team has a hole there.

Signing Risner to a contract would give the Cowboys a lot more protection and stability at their left guard spot. Risner still has plenty of football left to be played in his career, so he can not only fill the hole for the Cowboys immediately, but he could give the team a consistent left guard for a few more seasons. With the Cowboys looking to win this year, the team should seriously look into Risner, and attempt to bring him to Dallas, adding to an already exciting roster.

Worth it?

Reality starting this thread all but confirms he not only likes, but promotes the Dak hate and trolling back and forth between Cowboys fans.
Wrong........
Supporting and placing above the Star an inept talent who is keeping our team from glory promotes the debates in these lovely forums of ours.
The only way to STOP them is for #4 to do his job successfully esp in the playoffs.
The debates will continue.........

OMG, you are not letting that lame joke go are you? its gosh darn stupid. you are even loudly laughing at your own joke...that's pathetic. really pathetic.
You think my posts referring Dakota " WENTZ 2.0" Prescot as WENTZ 2.0 is supposed to be funny?????? I'm dead serious about it, the dude's play is reminiscent of Wentz when he played with the Eagles. Unfortunately, JJ doesn't want to admit that WENTZ 2.0 is never going to get the job done and will go to his grave without anymore NFC Championships or SBs, whereas the Eagles are flying high once they got rid of their over hyped, overpaid, less than mediocre wannabe NFL QB.

Dunna care about 27 years of your discomfort.
The last 2 plays from both 49er games (2021, 2022) and we, as a team, had massive brain farts with Deek directing the implosion.
yeah, you may have ADHD so you only see so far back. but then again, you have an agenda to drive. you are a Bash Dak over Dallas cult. you have clearly proven it.

what would you do if Dak wasn't here? complain about the kicker perhaps....you would find someone to hate. there is always someone to hate.

Drafting's our strength. Cant build the "BEST TEAM", when you're paying your "Non-Elite QB", elite money, especially when you've got the CAP Restructured bonus' to pay that we've kicked down the alley......please dont embarrass yourself again by commenting on CAP vrs Payroll .

The realty of gh the CAP that we can keep the elite, however, were you lose out is not being able to sign the good(ish) players (eg Steele, Biadasz, Diggs) and replacing them with Jags.
well, we had 20M in cap last year. 20M this year.

your math and BS just doesn't add up about the cap situation.

give us a name you wanted to sign and we didn't have the money to do?

oh, did I just blow your last brain cell with that question....

I am envious that the Eagles owner recognizes that a real GM is the way to build a SB caliber team.

their GM is aggressive and is proactive rather than reactive

the foundation of the Cowboys organization is flawed, so any success that we have is a blessing but it’s also the reason that we haven’t had post season success.

Wrongs players at some of the skilled position and not making the trenches a priority

Good post. If distilled down to “not making the trenches a priority”, it would be perfect. Short of having a Mahomes/Brady type, O and D lines are the way to get that ring.

There still is no right way to do the wrong thing no matter who the GM is. Stereotypes aren't very selective.
