Firing would be a bold move. There biggest problem is Hurts play. The 49ers really did figure him out. After that game their whole offense has been ineffective. He is just not a good passer
Dude is really not and has never been a QB. He’a an RB. It was painfully obvious at Alabama and it’s been more than obvious since turning pro. Take away the threat to run and he’s extremely mediocre.

LOL ... Typical mania - both fans and media presence. Suffer in their misery.

i'm also hearing in Philly, they are really hating the Shaq Leonard signing.

He cannot move. He's stiff and always a tick late.
his back issues has clearly made him a mere shell of former self.

Seems like we really lucked out big time with not signing him.
Leonard was a worse signing for the Eagles than even Evans was for the Cowboys.

Reports are circulating that the big problem in Philly has become Lurie. Supposedly he was heavily involved in choosing the assistant coaches this year and was heavily involved in the demotion of Desai for Matt Patricia as DC. The feeling is that Lurie hired Sirianni because he was a young inexperienced coach that Lurie could have influence over. I'm not sure how much credibility there is to this but Eagles' fans are talking about it on their forum. Apparently the media, especially Seth Joyner, is all over Lurie saying he is the problem. It's a blood bath on their forum right now. Everyone is taking a beating including Jeffrey Lurie, Howie Roseman, Nick Sirianni, the assistant coaches, and JALEN HURTS.

Hurts - they are all mad because the way that Hurts' contract is structured it is basically a 5 year guaranteed contract due to how Howie pushed all of the cap hits into voided years added to the contract. Trying to cut Hurts prior to 5 years would create an enormous dead cap hit. They are all complaining that he is a system guy that is only good in an RPO and that he is too dumb to make the proper reads to be anything else.
Hurts inability to read defenses is part of the reason why DCs blitz him so much without the fear that he'll burn their DBs or make their defense pay for it. And some of that falls on the coaching staff, but a lot of it can still be on Hurts for not being able to make hot reads or get rid of the ball quickly enough to make a defense pay for blitzing him. As we know how good Dak is against the Blitz so therefore defenses aren't going to be blitzing him as frequently as they do against Hurts.

And until Hurts shows he can consistently make defenses pay with big and efficient play for blitzing him, defenses are going to continue blitzing him at a high rate.

Eagles skated by the first 11 games with some extremely fortunate wins. They put the ball on the ground 4x against us and recovered them all. We melted down inside the 5 of that game. Refs bailed them out of the Buffalo and KC wins, as well as KC not being able to catch the ball in the 2nd half. Refs allowed their defense to hold all game, as well as hold on offense to set the edge and give Hurts time. Once this slowly went away, they were exposed. They lost to some very bad teams when everything was on the line. Remember, they trashed us for losing to Arizona. They also do this and I think it was a home game? Eeeked out a close game against the Giants Xmas Day. Then get hammered by them yesterday. The Giants are garbage.

Hurts is also a turnover machine. They are limping into the playoffs.

Hurts = Kaepernick. A guy who came in and looked really good early on. But once figured out, he didn't have the talent to adjust. Add in RG3 as well.

The more tape coaches get of these guys, the more they have the ability to expose them. Hurts as a pure passing QB has never been that good. You want him to be dropping back to pass to beat you. His TDs are inflated due to his OL pushing him into the endzone. The shine has worn off him and Siriani, a supposed QB/HC duo to rule the league for years to come.

They still have a chance to right the ship in the playoffs, especially against a weak TB team. But after that? Don't see any team they can beat on the road.

They got lucky Purdy got hurt in the NFC title game last year or they would have lost that game.

Philly has had issues all season. Barely beating Washington in both games and narrowly beating many teams to go to 10-1. But they had issues. They were the 2022 Viking this year. They could have easily been 7-4 or 8-3. The two games against the 49ers and Cowboys broke them mentally. The issues they had all came rushing forward. Now they are in complete collapse mode.

On top of this, the Jalen Hurts pick was Lurie. He really thought Hurts would be the next coming of Russell Wilson and pushed Roseman for the pick.

The Eagles put all their defensive eggs in the D-line basket, but even great d-lines need linebackers to clean up. Every great d-line in the NFCE playing a base 4-3 going back 50 years has had that. It what made those defenses so good. It's like buying a Porsche and putting tires from Walmart on the car.

The contracts the Giants and Eagles gave Jones and Hurts are going to be the gifts that keep on giving for years to come.
