I think the complaint is where he was picked. All-Pro TEs drop to lower rounds. Jason Witten was a 3rd round pick. Young buck Fergy was 4th. I was never concerned about TE, and felt like most Cowboys fans saw his potential after being a playmaker his rookie year.
The complaint with Schoon is for a complementary big body at TE, and not much of a playmaker, did we really had to give up a second rounder for that? It won't bite us this year. It will bite us next year and the year after when we start losing vets like Tyron, Zack Martin, Big Hank, Tank, Gillmore, Cooks.... or solid depth players that we can't afford to re-sign such as Armstrong and Fowler. That pick would have helped. Ironic how all the Mazi/Schoon advocates are all about big picture long-term development, but can't see this other side of the coin.
