Yeah, I doubt Jimmy is spending his days on his boat off the Keys playing GM for the Cowboys.
Jones would sink Johnson's boat before Jones would even think of giving Johnson any position within his front office.

Consider the last couple decades, and then imagine Jerry at this point listening to the advice of anyone but himself.

The game Jerry is playing is against the fans and media. He needs to keep both in the fold. The Jimmy stuff is all crap.

Doesn't have to be considered advice when it comes across as a joke, the NFL is a stage of entertainment, I look past the context.

What did you conclude beyond the context of Johnson's comments?

Absolutely and that’s why we have people connecting the dots or trying to with like “maybe they are letting dak go” or this is “jimmys” influence when in reality it’s likely way more likely that it’s the front office having an irrational confidence that their way of only building through the draft works.

“Well let them all go and we can easily replace them”
If they are planning a rebuild, their actions this off season are the best possible way to do it, barring some other team begging for Dak and him wanting to go.

Yep.....I have a sneaky feeling we are seeing the impact of some of Jimmy's advice to Jerry. Just too much of a coincidence he's back in the loop and appears they are willing to take two steps backward to gain one step.

Remember NO ONE saw the Herschel Walker trade coming.........their lack of free-agent activity defies logic, especially considering the starting positions that need replacements.
If we see Micah or CeeDee traded I will 100% believe Jimmy is involved.

Looks like Jimmys advice is lighting some fire for once in a very long time and getting rid of some scraps.
Since this is completely different than anything Jerry has ever done, it could well be Jimmy's influence. It simply doesn't take much evaluation to realize this team isn't going anywhere as is.

I think you and many are overrating jimmy or anyone’s importance on Jerry. He isn’t the first person of influence to suggest stuff to Jerry and I doubt this is anything to do with jimmy
Or you and many others are underrating it!!!!!!!!!!!!!

At least I'm admitting I truthfully do not know. Don't see how anyone does at this point.

The suggestion they Jimmy is making decisions or even offering input on individual players, beyond maybe Dak, is highly suspect.

They had a conversation after the playoff. Jimmy offered an opinion or two. The call probably wasn’t longer than fifteen minutes.

That’s his “influence”

Oh, since you asked, and are making him the decision maker, don’t forget longsnaper Trent Sieg. The team needed to make a statement with their first signing and I heard Jimmy and Jerry had to pull an all nighter debating that one. I think they got it right though.
The suggestion that he's not is even more highly suspect!!!!!

What makes you think that was Jimmy's idea? Jerry may have finally put Jimmy into the ROH, but that doesn't mean he decided to listen to Jimmy's advice. Jimmy may have tried to convince Jerry to be a little more active in FA, or maybe not let all those starters walk away without trying to do something to keep a competitive roster, but there's no proof it happened. As it stands now the franchise is in much bigger trouble than they were two months ago, and Jerry is the one to blame.
And no proof it didn't!!!!

Honestly, we do not know. However, what we do know is that the modus operandi is suddenly changed, and changed in a big way. This really looks like what needed to be done. If not Jimmy, then what? Did Jerry suddenly wake up and grow a brain after 28 years of flailing around in the kiddie pool?

60M is a lot against the cap...even with cap increasing yearly in most cases.

Dak does not appear to be some scrub to casuals or professionals as he puts up great numbers/low turnovers, and also seems to have leader qualities in the locker room.

I would love to hear what coaches and Will McClay think of Dak's game. Are there strong murmurings within the inner circle that Dak has major flaws or no?

Regardless...60M is a lot...but Dak doesnt seem like the kind of player Jerry lets go.

Almost seems as if there is a new, outside influence on the FO.

Jimmy was fired up at half time of the Playoff game...just livid...like he had skins in the game.

If you let Dak and CeeDee go, get a 10M QB...that frees up 70M to fill holes. Add in how McClay has been drafting well...maybe they do reset and go a new direction.

You either think you can put a team around Dak at 50-60M or you dont. And the direction depends on this opinion.

This team has taken steps back since the end of the season. Dak couldn’t get it done when he wasn’t counting heavily against the cap. I just don’t see him elevating his game when he is going to be taking more of the salary cap and being on the wrong side of 30 with injuries that has affected his mobility.
I think extending him, you better hope you a win a Super Bowl with him this up and coming season, because after this year, it’s over.

This is NOT a Dak thread. Please take your Dak comments to the multitude of threads pertaining to Dak.
