My original post had a reply to a comment by you and this one. I edited it by removing your post, as it was included by mistake. User error by me, I'm sure!
 
It is just disgraceful how Jerry has handled this. There is a solid argument if they should trade Micah. Although, how he has handled this is an embarrasment to the Cowboys franchise.

If applicable, Jerry Jones can show much or even great empathy and not have genuine feelings matching what he outwardly expresses. I will use Jones and Micah Parsons' relationship as an example.

On one hand, Jones has shown he is Parsons' biggest advocate among all human beings before Parsons instructed him to conduct any contract negotiations through his agent. He showered Parsons with praise constantly, both as a person and professional football player. It could be suggested Jones did so a tad more than the average owner or general manager. He has always enjoyed hyping whatever he is selling. Regardless, he has demonstrated both emotion and empathy for Parsons.

On the other hand, Jones (being Jones) has gone the extra mile propagandizing himself as the wounded victim in the public's eye in regard to the contract extension stalemate. It is an atypical reaction and effort in comparison to how the majority of owners and/or general managers have addressed similar impasses in their player/club contractual negotiations for the world to see.

Perhaps a truly empathic Jones would take both his personal grievance and Parsons' decision into consideration by not making the entire situation into an unnecessary public melodrama..? Understanding how Parsons' feels about getting the issue resolved neither dismisses Jones' disagreement nor supplies Parsons any leverage in the matter. A certain mindset will not see it that way though.

No argument from me. My wife is the college grad that majored in this stuff. She's the bread winner, I'm just a toll collector. I hear about this stuff all the time. We have Chris Watts among other cases. I am perfectly aware of what you've outlined as a possibility. We can't know for sure.

Duh.

Most people here are stuck on the idea that we're running the same scheme.

There's a lot of new pieces. And we've got some new players that better fit this system.

I just don't see how people can say this when they don't even know what price Mulugheta is demanding.
 
I mean he is a good defensive coach. So was Marinelli, Quinn, and Zimmer. I think you are always limited what you can do with this front office. They have shown they have no real idea how to fill certain players. Sometimes they even rely on the coaches to identify talent and then when they leave we are back to ground zero.

Either way, IMHO, Micah holds the primary 'blame' in a dance with notoriously bad partners.

I have to agree They had a deal It was given to his agent then something happened.
Micha had said at the start it wasn't about the money. Now Micha is acting like Jerry took his mic away from him.

Cowboys haven’t won jack in 30 years. How’s that for a fact for you. Telling me I don’t know anything because I simply posted my opinion with no sense of entitlement or malice just providing my insight is certainly a choice but hey to each its own. I may not know anything but clearly the “smartest people in the room” sitting at the star don’t either so they can be in the same boat with me

3rd youngest team in 2022. Here we are in 2025 with the 3rd youngest team again and have they gotten any better? Has it lead to anything.

I mean there were numerous issues…coaching was poor, injuries, lack of offseason….i never said they would win 12 games this year lol….

I’m looking at the 2022 roster and comparing it to now….its the same core lol.

Martin and D Law are the biggest names….Biadiz as well. A lot of guys who were around then are much better players now like Lamb, Bland, Tyler,…

I’d give this 2025 team the edge.


And being young hasn’t led to anything but in this league it does. Your core needs to be youthful. Even for all our failures if they didn’t have youth they don't have those 12 win seasons.

Do they even know? Jerry hasn't talked to him. I mean everyone knows the devil is in the details with NFL contracts. The totals reported are never real.

I could have told you months ago what the range would be within a million or two. It has gone up some with the recent signings. I am sure Jerry knew this as well.
 
The other side of this is if you are an owner/gm, it behooves you to cultivate great relationships with player agents. Are player salaries ridiculous? Sure, but so is what the owners make. It's all ridiculous, and it's not going to change as long as 20 million people keep tuning in every week.

The problem in Dallas isn't player salaries and mega contracts, it's who the GM decides to actually give the megadeals to and who he doesn’t that have been dragging this franchise down

I can't believe Dallas released Zion Childress, we will be lucky if we get him back, he is a good young player.I thought he would be the starter at nickel.

I usually don't. Something about his demeanor or something. Can't put my finger on it.

But this one was an exception.
 
I think there are some similarities. I can't remember the Zeke holdout very well. I think with Micah it has gotten personal and there is some bad blood there. I don't think that was there with Zeke. It was standard negotitating stuff where team and player were both trying to use their leverage appropriately. This feels different.
