Exactly my point. We take Torrence instead of Schoonmaker, and then we're not forced to take Booker. Bad draft affect every draft thereafter. Need a GM to run the draft.

I get the sentiment, but we shouldn’t overreact based on what you see this year.

This is a rebuild/retool team.

The Booker pic seems like excess right now, but things change in a hurry.

The goal now is to keep stacking talented players regardless of position and make moves later to fill the gaps.

The making moves later part is where we fail.

In and of itself the Booker pick is fine.

Yes you prefer to get more of an “impact position”

But if Booker is a pro bowl level guard for the next 10 years. Then it’s fine.

The issue moreso is the FO’s team building philosophy and lack of action in free agency.

They’ve been trying to tell us that they don’t need free agents and can improve the team through drafting and development alone for like 2 decades now. And it ain’t working. It doesn’t work.

You need both.

The Texas corner should’ve been our pick or some other defensive player.

I hate to Monday morning QB this thing but that pick is looking bad & has nothing to do with the player but the position he plays.

I HAVE BEEN ARGUING THIS SINCE THE DRAFT...three first round picks on OL isn't going to make you a superbowl contender. I would have rather over drafted a defensive player by a few spots than take a guard! and I don't care if Booker turns into a HOFer.

Been saying this since draft day. Booker is a solid G but you don't need to pick a G that high in the draft. Hell, our best G's have been converted OTs. Booker does not play a difference making position.

Terrible. Especially after a game where your interior OL was thoroughly dominated in Booker’s absence.

and defense gave up 216 yards rushing!!!! rather take a LB a few spots too early, than Booker who is not an offensive difference maker!!! taking a guard at 12 is not a luxuary, not necessasity.

I disagree. Hoffman and Bass are both okay, but both can be overpowered in the pass game. Those speedy outside rushers get sacks, but nothing bothers a QB more than pressure up the middle. And neither of those guys actually move men in the run game. We saw that today when they couldn’t just pin and pull vs the 3-4 big boys in the middle of that defense. On offense, everything starts with the OL, and it ends quickly if you don’t have depth there as well.

We had 1 bad week.

Maybe I’m over reacting but there were some defensive guys that we could desperately use right now.

The offense is still off the charts without Booker.

all the defensive guys drafted the past few years are busts, Mazi Smith isnt even playing!

I thought we did honestly. I really thought we had some nice building blocks in Bland and Diggs and then some youth in Kneeland and Williams. I was flat out wrong.

I kind of figured Diggs was borrowed after his 2nd knee injury. Its hard to maintain a high level of play after that.

I think Ezeiruaku could be a real building block. He could be a 10 sack guy. Kneeland I think could be a nice role player in the Armstrong/ Golston mold. Im a fan of Revel, but what worries me more than the injury is that he is a smaller school guy. Those guys can be hard to project. But we need him to hit. We need talent at every level of the defense
