How bad was the Tyler Booker pick?

We lost a game today because our slot corner was playing 15 yards out on a 4th down
And Jahdae Barron is currently penciled in as the backup slot cornerback to some guy who was an UDFA in 2023.
Regardless the best slot cornerback in the league isn’t worth a top 20 pick!

He may end up being a heck of a player for us but my gosh did we not need a guard with our first pick.

We are more then fine with what we have.

The Texas corner should’ve been our pick or some other defensive player.

I hate to Monday morning QB this thing but that pick is looking bad & has nothing to do with the player but the position he plays.
Booker was my choice. Not sure what the gripe is

when the pick was Tyler... my whole house was YEEAAAHHH, but then they said Booker. We Thought it was going to be Warren.

Been saying this since draft day. Booker is a solid G but you don't need to pick a G that high in the draft. Hell, our best G's have been converted OTs. Booker does not play a difference making position.
It’s difference making in the run game and pass protection . Would I rather have had a healthy Booker today or UDFA Bass while Williams was continually stacked up like a delivery of fire wood

Your gonna look back @ this post in 4 years and laugh....Solidifying the O-line wasn't the wrong move. Our #1 priority is to take care of #4. We saw how last year was a lost year when he went down.

Finding a nickel CB isn't that hard.....hell we had one....we just let him get away because we got cheap...and thought we had to pay Micah. We will be ok....We just gotta get off our ***** and pick up some guys...2 guys sitting out there right now I would kick the tires on...Mike Hilton..NCB...and Isaiah Simmons wants to go back to playing safety.

I said it for months before the draft, over and over, ........

We don't need to be drafting another Olineman with a 1st round pick, ESPECIALLY since we had just hired new Oline Coach, Conor Riley, and new O-Coordinator/Oline Coach, Klayton Adams. I knew with them two, our Oline could be rebuilt and shaped into a very good Oline with lesser drafted linemen.

I said repeatedly the best thing for Jerry to do was to trade down that #12 pick down into the 20s of the 1st round while picking up either an extra 2nd round and/or 3rd round pick(s). Then used that traded down 20s pick in the 1st round to take either big DT, Derrick Harmon, or Middle LB stud, Jihaad Campbell. Either one would have greatly and immediately helped our Defense right away this season, especially since both rookies are playing very well for their teams.

But, nooooo, so many posters here blasted me and said we needed another Olineman. Jerry and his bunch of goons obviously agreed with those posters.

How has it all turned out so far after Week 6?

Who was right? Who was wrong?

Jerry gets lots of bad advice come draft time. Sadly, it costs the team every year. Can never build it into something good because of costly early round draft choices.

lol.. c'mon AC.. I don't remember even ONE person saying we needed a G with the first pick.

However I do remember some people saying he was gold AFTER he was picked.

To me there's a happy place between top 16 picks on guards and just ignoring the position and hoping low level signings can be the answer

It's not like taking one up high is guaranteed to be good
Tyler was a LOT and the first guard from the draft has been already traded/cut.

The Guard from Georgia, taken in day two has been very good for the Lions
