How bad was the Tyler Booker pick?

We had 1 bad week.

Maybe I’m over reacting but there were some defensive guys that we could desperately use right now.

The offense is still off the charts without Booker.
Broaddus was pimping Devin Bush as a trade target. Thats interesting because he is only 27. @Cowboyny has made an observation that while he is terrible in coverage, our run D has suffered without Sanborn. Im buying in to that. Bush has been having a strong year

I kind of figured Diggs was borrowed after his 2nd knee injury. Its hard to maintain a high level of play after that.

I think Ezeiruaku could be a real building block. He could be a 10 sack guy. Kneeland I think could be a nice role player in the Armstrong/ Golston mold. Im a fan of Revel, but what worries me more than the injury is that he is a smaller school guy. Those guys can be hard to project. But we need him to hit. We need talent at every level of the defense
Eziraku is a bust, so is Kneeland, neither can get a sack, these guys are busts, try to trade them for picks because these guys stink

Kneeland has 1 career sack, Eziaraku has 0

Dont have time for projects if you dont sign free agents, rookies have to be great right away cause of this front office

He may end up being a heck of a player for us but my gosh did we not need a guard with our first pick.

We are more then fine with what we have.

The Texas corner should’ve been our pick or some other defensive player.

I hate to Monday morning QB this thing but that pick is looking bad & has nothing to do with the player but the position he plays.
It was the safe pick. You could even argue that it was somewhat cowardly. Could've traded down, even more than once and gotten more picks to spread the wealth around the team. The thing is, Jerry is not totally averse to doing that, but it's not what happened.

I thought it was a safe pick and a potential plug and play for a decade. However, I also didn't dislike the idea of Hoffman and Bass battling it out and thought there was more pressing needs.

If the Cowboys didn't go with Booker, I think they may have ended up with a receiver and so that likely means no Pickens. Probably worked out as intended, but as a fan can't help but wonder what if they went defense?

I agree. We should have spent our draft picks on defense. Also, if your drafting 2 runningbacks you should of at least use them, especially Jadon Blue.

I was all for drafting a defensive player, particularly an interior presence, but with 6 weeks of information, are any of them clearly showing they were worth the #12 pick? Post draft discussion suggested there wasn't a market to trade down. Just not sure what realistic options were available in the moment.
