LT Overton Camp

People who don’t know any better probably thunk Gangsta of Love is actually some sort of wholesome song, lol. It couldn’t be further from wholesome, it’s absolutely foul and filthy, I love it!
Back then you had to be creative. Good ol days lol.

Imagine if we had picked A-Rod instead of Spears at that pick……holy stuff…!
I’d rather have had Romo. Aaron was a piece of crap.

I think Overton showed a lot more playing snaps inside than he does on the outside, where he gets manhandled by OTs and not being asked to run the arc.

I think in a lot of ways he’s like Shelton in that he needs to work on his functional playing strength in general. Bama probably has a weight room comparable to any NFL team but my suspicions are he probably wasn’t hitting it like he should have been.
I’m liking Overton. I remember either Brugler or the ringer talking about his “strong base” and “heavy hands”. Sounds like more about functional strength but who knows.

His RAS is scary and not in a good way but let’s see what he does in actual games.

he didn’t lift at the combine but a bunch of players seem to opt out of that these days.

.A-Rob is a much better QB than Romo was…A-Rod is the best thrower of a football I’ve ever seen. Go on YouTube and check some of his highlight videos….dudes arm and accuracy, ability to scramble and throw perfect throws, I’ve never seen anyone able to place the ball anywhere he wanted the way he did. Sure he has a personality that some people complain about (honestly a lot was just people being reactionary over his stance on the jab)…but people are too critical over stuff like that, it’s not nearly the big deal people made it out to be. If we had A-Rob, I bet we win at least 1 Super Bowl. Him on the 2007, 2014 or 2016 teams? Yeah, he’s taking us farther with those weapons.

He's strong if he's an edge but he has been getting buried as a 4i.

Good hands don't matter much when you have to absorb a double if you are extremely light. Not only is he giving up ~30 pounds to IOL, he doesn't have that squat build through the legs that guys who can anchor well do.

He's probably got to be a penetrating B-gap player or find a way to stick on the edge to stick long term.

Yeah I think he’s crap. Incredibly talented but scum. If he was a better leader he’d have 3 rings. Great player….

“Scum” is a strong word though lol…..just curious as why you dislike him THAT much? Romo just got a DUI with now other charges, nobody is perfect….
Yeah, he's annoying for sure, very snarky. But scum? Haven't seen anything to warrant calling him that. Plus, the commercial trying to hit the fly w/ a golfball was hilarious!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Overton has a squat build: "he is noted for playing w/ a wide/low base and high lower body strength. This helps him anchor beautifully against the run and absorb double teams."

I know you don't like him, but don't have to make stuff up. "Overton possesses a thick, dense, and powerfully built lower base."

Hey, maybe he won't make a good NFL player, but anchoring ability he does have.

His RAS score is under DE when it should be under DT and jumps up to a decent number when I corrected it. His weight was also up to 287 at his pro day which would boost his number some.

Yes it looks like weighing 274 is what torpedoed this grade; which is for a traditional DT. As a 3-4 end his weight is much more ideal.

He can anchor well for his build.

That doesn't mean he is built that way

This is all well and good

But as a DT the things he did well at DE in college aren't particularly relevant.

This is useful if they are going to ask him to be more of a penetrative player
