Complete failure of the coaching staff. There's nothing worse for a player than to feel hancuffed by the very people who are supposed to be setting you up for the best chance to succeed.

I've not been impressed by BS but I hadn't written him off yet. Hopefully the locker room hasn't written him off yet.

Brian Schottenheimer on the Week 1 loss to the Giants and the defensive issues.

“You address it first and foremost, it was surprising we didn’t communicate well. First part is being decisive and loud.

Second part, that's the the person that's giving it, and then the receiving is where we're off. You know, on a few things, calls are being made. They have to be louder. They have to be more decisive, but they have to be received. And to co-sign that, you see us. We signal all the time based on you know different things, so you can't hear what they're saying on the film. So there should be hand signals that show information being received, and you know we need to do better. And it wasn't good enough, but we emphasize that we talked about it, and they understand.

I think sometimes guys try to do a little bit too much in those situations, especially if they don't hear what they're.

The way the National Football League is right now is, you know, we're this way on offense. You know, you're trying to change the picture. You're trying to make things look different. You're trying to make people have to adjust on the run. Motion shifts, movements are at all-time high in this level. So, if you don't communicate when the numbers change and the picture changes, then you're going to put yourself at a disadvantage.”

If only there was some form of get together or some structured events to get these communications worked out. Like a long glorified work retreat. And it really be great if this glorified work retreat had some games you could play that didn’t count against your record. It would be awesome if the NFL established that in the offseason so teams can get on the same page with communication.

There is little reason to keep explaining all your coaching decisions to the media. No points will be awarded that will boost your job security. Just nudge the conversation on to Washington and be done with it.

Yes but the cowboys don’t have well decorated coaches you give benefit of the doubt to. As much as I like Schottenheimer I truly worry about his ability to support the defensive side of things after last year and now the same issues popping up.

And I’m just not sure there is a ton of time for patience this season. This team is coming off back to back losing years. Dropping to not just 0-2 but 0-2 within the division before a really rough 5 game stretch means it’s nearly over as crazy as that sounds. 0-2 teams just don’t make the playoffs often, typically around just 10% of the time. We need some urgency.

I guess my point is that it’s week one

Sean McVay, the NFLs resident genius, had his super team get dominated . They looked out of shape and confused.

Jim Harbaugh, with a team set up to challenge for a Super Bowl, was beat by double digits at home by one of the worst teams in the league that started Jacoby Brissett at QB. They had brought in alleged offensive wunderkind Mike McDaniel and their offense was junk.

Super Bowl Pats scored ten points. Drake Maye was garbage and the leader of all men, Mike Vrabel had no idea how to handle the Seahawks rematch

The Pack. Another team with a head coach that was once the hot new chick, totally collapsed, blowing a lead and giving up 29 unanswered.

Poor Robert Saleh, widely respected but head coach of a couple of bad teams of late, debuted with a really bad showing.

None of those teams looked prepared and each of them have fans questioning their entire offseason.

I think week one is just weird.

The freak out factor is at Defcon 1, cocked pistol scenario, pointed at our own heads.

I picked 9-8 and knew every week could be a challenge. Last year I had 6 wins and was surprised to see us squeeze out seven.

For those who predicted 12-5 with a near lock for the East, I can understand why they want to fire both Schottenheimer and Parker this week, give up their fandom and swear they’ve watched their last game.

This week is about emotion and unrealistic expectations as much as anything.

I’ll wait until next week before I reassess my own expectations to see if they might go down to 8-9 or 7-10. The talent on both lines and all through the defense is below average or worse. It wasn’t going to be fixed in a single offseason

I will often check out at halftime with night games.

Sunday afternoons I often play golf here in SW Florida.

I don’t go out of my way to sit through the games anymore. I know good football teams when I see them. This organization has no clue how to build a championship roster. The offense is always decent and the defense stinks. The one year the defense was good the offense and Dak stunk against the 49er’s.

The fans can’t catch a break.

I wonder. They didn't have any designed runs for Daniels week #1. No pistol, etc.

Obvious they are trying to protect him better (he has the body of a basektball player).
