That still was a catch! **merge**

then that means it was a fumble by DEZ.....if DEZ wants to be elite he needs play like he is elite.....hang on to the ball.,,,and make the play....yes, he had good stats but also had some horrible drops and crazy 20yd fumbles.....if you want to be compared to Calvin Johnson, Larry Fitz, Aj Green, Demarius Thomas and others he needs to play like he belongs in the same conversation... Not sure I would break the bank to resign Dez at this point,,,,and i stress at this point....a wr with back issues and fumblitis is replaceable....ask mile's austin, mike wallace and other replaceable wr's.....love the heck out of Dez..... but he had a opportunity to step up and show up.....yes he was like 9 for 102yds... but again...he was good, but not as advertised....good game by Dez but maybe a little pressure will push him to step up, stop fumbling and become elite

Not sure how many times Romo targeted dez but would be interested in the numbers?

Do we win that game without Dez??? No way in hell..

if he would of held on to the ball it would not of been a issue....you want to be elite...play like our elite...hang on to the ball

It wouldn't have been an issue if the refs did their job.

Dez is the definition of ELITE!!!.... Apparently you didn't see the Calvin fumble/drop today???

Cowboys won -- despite the horrendous officiating.

They tried to help the Gints big time , anytime , bogus calls and no calls . Jacobs 36 6d run doesn't happen if there was two holds one very clear on Selvie, Williams PI was missed just to mention a few

elite players dont drop the ball and leave it open to interpretation by the Refs.........

Love Dez but he could not hold on to the ball today.....

It could not be ruled a fumble because the ground cannot cause a fumble unless he wasn't touched down. He was touched down by a defender. I don't think it was a catch by the NFL rules. Just like Victor Cruz's TD in the first game of the season should not have been ruled a catch.

Just when I think I have seen it all on this board, another one of my fellow CZers proves that there's plenty left to see. Keeps me coming back.

But it should have been reviewed at least right?

It was a catch. But regardless, Dez is going to cost this team big in the end.

C'mon man, 4 or 5 drops plus fumbles, etc.

I don't think the new rules even apply....catch, put it away, cradle it, go to the ground, hand under ball, ball never moves even when lying flat with hand still under it, as he slid along the ground, the ball eventually rolls out from the friction with ground. I'll be shocked if league doesn't admit it was a missed call.

The guys upstairs may have seen the initial replay and decided there was no need for a longer look. I would have preferred they at least slow down and look at it again, but I knew they weren't going to change the call.

Yes. It was pretty obvious he had the ball and took 2-3 steps. That is a catch. If the defender had then knocked the ball out it would have been a fumble. They would have reviewed it and called it as such.
The point that upsets me the most is that it wasn't even looked at by the booth? I get the whole efficiency of the game, but that is absurd.
I think after he takes the three steps with clear control the point of controlling through hitting the ground is a mute point.

Dez had a good game. But it would have been even better had he gone North a little more than East-West.

Catch or no catch, at this point we don't really care. The beef is why was it not reviewed? If anyone saw the Packer game, they stopped play to booth review an incomplete pass that sailed over the WR's head 15 yards down field. The ref came back and said the ruling on the field stands, inclomplete pass. That was even a bigger head scratcher.

That one the qb was losing control of the ball when he threw it so they checked to see if it was a fumble. It was stupid and why they need to tweak that rule to whether the ball goes forward or backward.
