I chuckle (sarcastically) when people say things like "with your star out, the rest of the team will up their game..."

bs, if the team has that extra gear and wasn't using it for the first 15 weeks, it is time to clean house and get guys that give the ultimate effort in EACH game....

And a coach that knows how to get it.

I do agree that we have no pressure on us anymore. Nobody expects us to win. The team should play loose but you never know with this bunch.

I think there is, or certainly should be, a lot of pressure from within the Cowboys organization to win this game. We are overdue to break through and losing Romo should not change anything in terms of these expectations. Time for our backup QB to shine just as others have this year....

Because the eagles defense will not take Orton seriously. If Romo had played they would be out to stop him but not with Orton. They don't know what to expect from Orton

Do you understand that? They don't know if he will run if given the opportunity, they don't know if he will throw long passes or just be flat out bad.

So I like the unknown factor going into this game and if you can't get excited about that then you must be dead and don't know it lol

Do you even understand Orton is just a second string QB who hasn't played in a real game for nearly two years? and you expect him to be all world? You are joke, and always has been, but then I expect nothing less from an eagles fan.

Eagles Fan? Don't insult me like that

Anyway, as Cowboys fans if we don't know what to expect from Orton you gotta know the Eagles defense don't know how to prepare. They were game planning to stop romo and now with someone else behind center that made throw off their strategy.

Do you understand that? And no one knows if Orton will be all world which is the point I am trying to make on why he is the X factor

You don't know what to expect from Orton but yet you are giddy about Romo being injured? moronic at best.

Yes I am giddy because we have a advantage now that the eagles will be heavily favored and expected to win. I am giddy because we are playing with house money

There is no damn advantage when a team loses a franchise QB, it's nothing more than bs that you believe in.

You forgot your 5th reason.

5. I had rather lose without Romo than win with him.

Such an astute mind. The Eagles are just going to walk into our stadium and give the game away.

Were you starved for attention as a child?

I didn't say the eagles would give the game away just that it will be more challenging since the cowboys have no pressure.

Yeah you are right. In a win or go home game in week 17, Eagles aren't going to take the QB seriously and just jack around out there.

With your logic, why doesn't every team just sub in their backup for every big game?

When it's a do or die game and one team loses their starting QB, what team do you think will have the most pressure?

It would be the same thing if foles got hurt last week, all the pressure would be on us because the nation would be saying...."eagles have no shot" and vegas would have us as the favorites which would mean we would have more pressure to win the game

So that's why I said we have no pressure because no one expects the cowboys to win now which puts more pressure on the eagles in a do or die game

1. The eagles defense has no idea what to expect from Orton

2. All the pressure now is on the Eagles since they will be heavily favored due to no Romo

3. We no longer have any pressure to win this game due to Romo being out

4. Been watching the NFL long enough to know when a star player goes down like this, the team comes together and plays well and usually wins

Anyone else feeling good right now that we are playing with House money??? This is the best thing that could have happened to us

I can't say that I'm giddy, but #4. That win over Washington was big. We know that Washington is a 3win team, but we also know that when it comes to NFC East division games, records and stats all go out the window. The team seemed to really FEEL the win, but quickly got focused on Philly and Week 17. Losing Romo could bring this team together even more. It could inspire guys to give the extra 10% effort and focus that the team needs to win.

I also agree with #2 & #3. I think this injury was a bit of a release valve opening up. Any tension that the media could have built up just doesn't apply. BUT, I've already heard from ESPN and others how Philly has all of the pressure on it's side now. I'll take it.

That said... I fully support Kyle Orton, but I'd rather have Romo + December pressure + everything else.

...that's my quarteback, man. that's my quarterback!

1-3 sound good but number 4 and this team? At least the older players not named Witten.
