Jerry says he's not drafting a qb early in next years draft

Uhmm...Ravens with Dilfer, TB with Johnson, Seattle now, SF now...

So two elite defenses...one of which was an all time defense....and two guys who have yet to win anything and are now playing under the new CBA.

And also when someone says has that ever worked outside of a few exceptions and you list 4 teams half of which have not won it all and 2 of which are from a different era you aren't disproving his point. You're making it for him.

Cam is a loser? I'd take Cam every day of the week and twice on Sundays.

And you realize the Run game is strong in large part BECAUSE those qbs you listed can run the ball which takes a linebacker out of the run defense on a lot of downs.

Thus a system QB and I was not saying Cam was a loser, his team was losing when he was being forced to do too much....hmmm sounds a lot like Romo huh?

Who even needs the draft? We can always go pick up a high school teacher that was once an NFL football player...

I remember when Parcells made Romo the starter. Jerry didn't seem to be that behind it at the time.

Jerry didn't like it and he said Bledsoe gave them the best chance to win. And Mickey Spagnola hated it even more and said if you start Romo you just give the impression to the rest of the team that you're giving up on the season.

This is exactly how Jerry operates; he reacts to problems only when they become a crisis instead of anticipating and steadily upgrading talent

That is what poor leaders do. They react to crises instead of doing what they need to do in order to prevent them.

Nobody liked it other than myself, to toot my own horn... :) Even Parcells. Drew Bledsoe was his guy and the reason he was here in the first place,

A system QB?

Cam has accounted for 80 tds in less than 3 years in the league.

Mel Kiper said coming into his draft that Cam had the highest ceiling of any QB he has ever studied.

Jim Harbaough said he's "plutonium grade material."

There is not a QB i'd take before Cam to start over with.

A system QB? You really make yourself look...well...not smart when you say things like that.

Jerry's not ignoring an oncoming crisis. He just doesn't see them coming.

Kind of like if I was performing a surgery. I probably wouldn't know my next move. Cause, like, I'm not a surgeon.

Reading what Jerry said sorry I agree. We just signed Romo to a 6 year deal Dallas is not going to use a high draft pick to get a QB. He did not rule out getting a QB later in the draft but it would makes little sense to turn around use a top pick on QB.

Does it make sense to use a high draft pick on a "complimentary" RB like Felix Jones?

Does it make sense to use a high draft pick on a second TE who barely sees the field?

If the value is there, you cannot diminish taking the QB as they ultimately are the players that separate good teams from bad.

Jones cannot wait for another "miracle".

As I said earlier if a top QB were to fall in the draft then take him outside of that given the condition of the DL I would rather see the Cowboys address and continue to look at OL. Mean time Romo just signed a 6 year deal he is not going anywheres over the next 3 to 4 years. I do think QB will need to be addressed but right now only knee jerk reaction I see is claiming that we need a QB right now.

All of them have an offense...Cam's first year they ran Auburn's offense...designed around their running ability. So yes they are system QBs as opposed to the classic pocket passers: Brady, Manning, Rodgers and Brees.

This not going to be popular around here, but, if I were Jerry and if I had a chance in this upcoming draft to draft a QB high in the 1st round, I take it, period!

Now, I would not be as foolish as the Commanders were with RGknee, but if there were a blue chipper QB in this draft, I find a way to go get him.

Romo is never going to be the same again.

I'm not sure I agree with this. Romo is not going to be the Romo we all knew and chances are he could actually retire next year!

Again another person twisting Jerry's words. He didn't say he wasn't drafting a QB high in the draft and even if he did the draft is while away so a lot of things can happen between now and April. Also as we've seen in this league in the last few years you can find just as good or better QBs later in the draft then in the 1st and 2nd round.

Thanks for the clarity.

If he is playing three seasons from now at the level associated with his pay, I will be utterly amazed.

I don't understand the Aaron Murray hype, The guy hasn't won a big game his entire college career at UGA. He's basically Romo of the SEC, puts up good numbers without jack to show for it. You don't replace Romo with Romo 2.0..

"Like hell you don't!!!" -Jerry Jones

and that is what I feel is a knee jerk reaction and not he is not retiring not sure where you are getting that from.

Being a classic pocket passer isn't a "system"?

Do you even understand what you're talking about?

When Matt Cassell was able to step into the Patriots system and put up big stats and win 11 games (and have virtually not success anywhere else) should show you that everyone runs a system.

"System" QB is just jargon for people who hate change.

Again a classic passing offense is dictated by a system. Everything else.

Please educate yourself on football.

YAWN...

I wouldn't be amazed at all. Maybe that is why we see things differently. I don't think Dallas needs to rush out and get a QB this coming draft, they may look at QB later in the draft but unless someone dropped unexpectedly then I would not do it. Frankly all the talk about how deep this QB draft is? I don't see it, what Johnny Football a 1st rd? lol yeah that is a great lineup of QB. If you plan on starting a college program
