Here's what I got from the championship games

We honestly don't even look like we belong in the same league as a team like Seattle. We look like a college team compared to them.

Their defense & the Niners too is in a different stratosphere. You have the top couple of teams & then every other team. We're just one of those every other teams.

What I learned is each team favors the big, physical corner than can tackle and the Niners and Seahawks favor the safety over the corner. It's pretty simple, if your DB's are physical and can tackle, your defense is likely to be physical and can tackle. The Patriots tend to favor the CB and safety the same, but this year had some excellent corners...who are big, physical corners than can tackle. The Broncos seemed to favor safety over corner, but you couldn't tell given Chris Harris' injury. I wasn't impressed with their secondary.

I learned that Peyton > Brady and if he had some semblance of a defense in Indianapolis, he would have won at least 2 more SB's, if not 4 or 5 by now.

Kaepernick > Russell Wilson. Neither looked very good, but Kaepernick was extremely clutch.

Tall corners work in this league as Crabtree was open and Kaepernick made a good, but not perfect throw. Sherman made an incredible play on a pass he was beat on because he's 6'3" tall with a 32" wingspan and not 5'10" tall.

If I were a football player I would love to play for either Harbaugh or Carroll.

People still don't understand why going for it on 4th down is the right move and will use anecdotal evidence to prove their point.

I think the idea of the 'modern QB' not being a pocket passer is fool's gold and it showed by the struggles that Wilson and Kaepernick had throwing the ball.

I really wouldn't mind Vic Fangio as the next HC if Garrett is fired after next season.

I hope Jason was listening to Jimmy on the 1/2 time show.

The seahawks will continue running the ball in the second half and those short gains will turn into 8+ yd runs

Ya think Jason?

I also learned why Jerry went to seattle (there was a report earleir in the week)

It is the only way he will be at an NFC CG....... as a guest

So he got that taken care of, .. now if he can get the playoff field expanded, he can say we went to the playoffs too, .. maybe. LOL

It's Kaepernick's 3rd year (2nd year playing), and it wouldn't matter it it was his 10th year. The media's rules are different for Romo. He's the only QB who gets mocked and slammed for days after a late, costly turnover. Show me another QB who gets that kind of treatment.

It goes both ways with Romo. When he plays well the love fest for him is just as over the top. That goes for your entire organization. When it's good it's great and when it's bad the sky is falling.

I am not exactly a huge Romo fan, but if he had the defense and a coach's commitment to the running game that the other two NFC teams today had, he would be going to the Super Bowl.

I feel that way.

If Romo would play for the vet min (a salary similar to Wilson and Kaepernick) maybe the team would be able to get some better players on defense which would help the team go to the super bowl. Romo's being paid big bucks to deliver. Why pay some player all that money if that player can't get the job done without a lot of help from others. Peyton Manning gets paid a lot but he also makes up for his big salary by covering up for poor defenses. Unfortunately, Romo doesn't do that any more and most likely can't but his salary blocks the team from bringing in additional help.

Seattle and SF will possibly be in the same position unless they manage their cap better.

Not sure why people are reading so much more into what I originally posted.
Read it again, .. no mention of salary, contract, vet min, etc.
Only a simple statement about what I think of Romo on the field.

WOW, ..can't believe I just read that, or that anyone thinks that.

How about we point to an instance where Romo has came up big in a big game? Because I can't think of any besides the Eagles playoff win.

Otherwise, in pretty much ever instance we have needed a win, he has failed us. Usually in the end.

Last year against the Skins, our defense bailed out our crappy offense the whole first half. Gave the offense the ball back down 3 and plenty of time. And we all know what he did a few plays into that drive.

Good to know we have at least one Jerry Jones fan, who believes he has done an excellent job building a team since Tony Romo should be having success with the team Jerry built. Now I know what the real problem is...you believe in Jerry. I will move along now.

Denver does not have a good defense. More like pats offensive skill position players blow.

yup, spot on. Short, quick little Welker wannabes running crossing patterns was bound to catch up. Totally agree.

What's so hard to believe? Businesses do trade-off studies all the time. NFL teams do it too or should. It is a hard cap in the NFL and limited resources. You have to allot your resources carefully and correctly. Romo and Witten count roughly $28M against the 2014 cap. Would the team be better off if we rolled with Orton and Escobar and used the $28M on roughly 5 players at $5M/yr on defense versus paying Romo and Witten. Would we have a higher likelihood of doing better than 8-8. Unfortunately, the decision was already made and we are locked into it and can't do much in the immediate one or two years due to the cap.

Romo is good but he can't carry a team like the other top QBs (Manning, Brady, Brees, Rodgers, etc). But, he is being paid right along with top QBs in the NFL to do just that and has been failing miserably at it for three years now. And now he is coming off two back surgeries, three straight years of win-or-in choking, and his salary keeps going up and up. If Romo (and others) really wants to win, he needs to take a pay cut and allow the team to look for additional pieces to help. If not, we are going to get the same results or even worse.

So pretty much Romo can only win with the perfect team built? Gotcha.

Explain to me why he failed in 2007 and 2008? Those were very good teams, especially 2007. But keep the excuses coming for him. I've never seen a QB who has accomplished so little get so pumped out to be something he is not. He's not a winner. He puts up personal stats for himself but can't win.

So you do not deny that you are a fan of Jerry Jones and how he constructs teams?

Romo is near the bottom of the league in 3rd down passing %, no way is he worth the salary. He puts up greaqt stats on 1st and 2nd down, when the defense has to respect the run. However, when the passing chips are on the line he folds like a cheap suit. I mean, does anybody see a pattern here? Big games, 3rd downs? Place hands to throat.

Once again, and this will be the last time I mention it, ... I never said anything about money, salary, contracts, bonuses. Nothing about money. So I'm not sure why you keep bringing that up to me.

And the part I could not believe was when you said, "that player can't get the job done without a lot of help from others."

Do I have to say it, .. do I have to be that obvious, .. do I have to say ... every player needs help from others?

Not just Romo.
