gone but not forgotten...I will miss you terrorizing people on the edge DWare (although I haven't seen it in a while).

it will be very interesting to see what they do with the new-found cash

Marshall Faulk thinks Ware will be back at a much lower price after he finds out not a big market for him.

I hope the guy gets a good deal on the open market. In a scheme in which his hand is off the ground, perhaps he can still help a club in some capacity. He's been a helluva performer here and I wish him well.

Thanks Demarcus, look forward to see what Bill Belicheck will do with you.

I'd be willing to bet Jerry offered him about $6 mil to stick around. If someone offers him 7 or 8 mil, which they very well might, he'll be offering his services to another team. It really doesn't behoove us to chance overpaying Ware any longer. We're in a position whereby we'll be obliged to spend a considerable amount to keep those like Tyron, Dez and others in tow. I'd be very surprised if some talent-needy team doesn't make it totally outrageous for us to outbid them for Ware's services.

No no no.

He's not coming back.

Neither is Miles Austin.

Please explain the fascination of getting younger that is taking over these boards? Getting younger doesn't mean squat if the young players you bring in can't play. Jerry Jones is still calling the shots and the Parcells guys are disappearing.

I don't care about young or old. I care about winning championships.

Ware's sack and solo tackle totals over the last three years:

2011 - 19.5 sacks 48 solo tackles
2012 - 11 sacks 35 solo tackles
2013 - 6 sacks 28 solo tackles

Last season's performance from Ware was not a fluke. It was a trend. He is getting older and his body is breaking down and he will NEVER be the full time dominant pass rusher he used to be. The idea of getting younger really means getting players who are good and getting better instead of players who were great, are now ok but are steadily getting worse.

His pay was set to jump to 12.5 million without a restructure which would be ridiculous to pay given our cap situation and his declining performance. I understand people being upset with him leaving because he has been one of the greatest Cowboys ever but this was the smart move to make. I hate to see him leave but I am very happy to see the Cowboys are no longer overpaying for past performances. Granted its probably just the horrible cap situation forcing that as opposed to Jerry coming to his senses.

Ware back at a lower rate would be the ideal scenario IMO. No capable replacements in rd 1.

Ware has been contacted by six playoff teams already apparently.

I guess they don't know he is a bum who sucks.

I would love to see that. Perhaps thats how they spun it. As a good will gesture we will cut you now and you can see what genuine offers you get. If you get something better, fine. If not, our offer still stands until some such deadline and we will be happy to have you back.

Thats probably not what happened but it would be nice.

I don't think anybody is surprised that teams would be interested in him. The question is how much are they willing to pay to get him.

100% chance he won't be back (until he retires and they put him in the Ring of Honor)

They had no choice, you cant pay someone that much and have such little to show for it.

how do you explain Keeping Jason garrett all these years then?

he has made a fortune and has zilch to show for it.

I can really see NO making a run....close by and familiar faces

As greg ellis said this afternoon he is a great fit for any 3-4 team and he is by no stretch done as a player.

he is just getting the typical Sheep like agree with jerry cowboys fan reaction right now.

he is not marcus spears or marion barber. there is plenty of football left in ware.

Of course it was the right move, it's a bussiness decision, and this time for once in a while Jerry did the right choice. As much as we love Ware to retire as a cowboy, he doesn't worth $12.5 millions, and he didn't want a paycut and he is right too, it's about his future. Let's wish him well and be thankfull for the memories.
