A man who fell asleep in a dumpster woke up in the back of a garbage truck.

San Francisco firefighters had to rescue the man who became stuck inside a Recology cardboard recycling truck early Tuesday morning.

The truck driver said he was doing his normal routine at about 6:30 a.m. – lifting trash into his truck – when he heard yelling from the back of the truck. He drove straight to the nearby fire station at 16th and Irving streets to get the man out.

November 26, 2013 1:58 AM
SEATTLE (CBS Seattle) – Would be robbers picked the wrong guy to mess with when they targeted a convenience store in West Seattle, reports KOMO TV News.

Two men entered the store wearing ski masks, one guarded the entrance while the other pointed a handgun at Robert Moore, who was behind the counter.

Moore wasn’t sure if the gun was real, “I looked at his gun and said ‘I have a bigger one than you do.”
The would-be robbers ran away and fled in a white SUV.

3 juveniles arrested in 'clumsy' lingerie store robbery

Surveillance video of the robbery, which happened at 3:10 a.m. on April 13, showed the teens shooting wildly throughout the Katz Boutique located at 9820 North Freeway service road.

"I have to say that in the seven years that I've been investigating robberies, these are by far some of the clumsiest crooks that I've seen in a long time," said Jeff Brieden, with the Houston Police Department.

The 16-year-old suspect was armed with a rifle, while one of the 15-year-old suspects had a revolver. During the robbery, the suspect with the revolver apparently bumped into the suspect with the rifle, causing the rifle to discharge, police said.

"The 16-year-old admitted that he was not familiar with weapons and kept his finger on the trigger during the robbery. The 16-year-old stated he accidentally pulled the trigger, which then spooked him, as well as the other suspects, and they then started firing their weapons throughout the business," Brieden said.

Man crashes car into his pool after his sandal catches on pedal, police say

An 85-year-old California man escaped without injury on Saturday after crashing his car into his own swimming pool, police say.

The man, whose name was not released, told emergency officials in Los Angeles County that his footwear became stuck on one of the vehicle's pedals, causing him to drive through a wall in his garage and into the backyard of his Altadena, California, home.

"He told us that his shoe or sandal got caught in the pedals of the vehicle and (he) drove through the door in the rear part of his garage and into his swimming pool," L.A. County Fire Department Capt. Jeffrey Sims told KCAL-TV.

Rome man begs for jail to escape wife during house arrest
Roman father-of-three asks judge to put him in jail after "constant fighting" with his wife three months into eight-month house arrest sentence

By Rose Walker

Most prisoners long for the day when they will be reunited with their families - but a man in Rome has adopted the opposite attitude.

A 37-year-old, currently under house arrest, has asked a judge that he be placed in jail instead because his "constant fighting" with his wife was too much to bear.

The unnamed father-of-three was just three months into his eight-month sentence for a series of minor crimes, but spending his days at home with his wife had proved to be anything but domestic bliss.

BMW Theft Suspect Attempts to Flee Police Chase on Skateboard

Monday, December 01, 2014 07:24PM
VAN NUYS, LOS ANGELES (KABC) --
A suspect wanted for allegedly stealing a BMW sedan led police on a chase in Van Nuys, bailed out on foot and attempted to get away on a skateboard before he was blocked by a Good Samaritan in a pickup truck as officers arrived.

The suspect exited the 405 Freeway at Victory Boulevard at about 3:40 p.m. and drove on surface streets in Van Nuys at high speeds, reaching up to 90 mph at times.

On eastbound Sherman Way, the suspect crashed into the back of another vehicle in stopped traffic. The suspect then jumped out of the BMW and ran into oncoming traffic with a longboard skateboard in his arms.

He ran northbound on Valjean Avenue, jumped on his skateboard and rode the sidewalk for less than half a block before running into traffic again. A pickup-truck driver blocked him in traffic, then accelerated and turned right on Cantlay Street and blocked the suspect at a gate. The suspect was immediately arrested without incident.

Saw that on the news last night. The video I saw showed him get on his skateboard and after about 30 yards jump off it realizing that he could run faster than he could skateboard.

The skateboard is the only getaway vehicle you have to pick up and run with.

Unfortunately for him he couldn't skateboard very fast so he had to jump off and start running but carrying the skateboard slowed him.
