Ahmad Dixon Cut

Getting cut and now looking for work will probably be good for Dixon.
Sometimes you need to be humbled and evaluate how you take care of business.
This isn't college anymore where criticism is fleeting.
This is every play you mess up a huge contingent of fans(and possibly coaches) are going to say you suck and should go die in a hole.
Not everyone can handle that.
The NFL is far more a mental game than people realize.
Otherwise guys like Ryan Leaf would have made the hall of fame.

It really goes both ways here. LOL.

Yep. We want the nastiness and fire that Dixon can display on the field. But there's a yang to that yin. If he's doing all these other things off the field, then he wasn't gonna be long for the team anyway.

But someone here saw Dixon make 12 tackles.

He's a keeper. ;)

Dixon can play in this league if he gets his head straight.
I think there are points on both sides.

The note that dealing with his nonsense is probably not worth the price of admission is imho accurate.

No doubt, especially for a 7th rounder.

... and if he had Dez Bryant talent we'd be working with him babysitting him to get his head right and let him grow up.. but we can't do that for 20 young guys at once.
rookies missing meetings is absurd.
rookies drafted that late missing meetings is really just unheard of. --thats basically going MIA... lol. ask the Jets.

And that's the key point. He's a 7th rounder who in no way should feel entitled to anything. But if reports are true, that's exactly how he felt.

They may very well bring him back to the PS, but I imagine if he doesn't show improvement, attitude-wise, then he'll be gone again.

If the reports of him missing team meetings still are true, he's gonna slide right past the Cowboys practice squad. Some other team might have a look at him, I suppose.

I thought we already knew a Roy Williams style player wasn't a great fit in today's NFL?

I wouldn't take much with what some of these players tweets. Context is hard to decipher on twitter. Plus some of these guys tweets thousands of times with sometimes very little substance.

I do think athletes need to be careful with it though, but tweets like above don't really mean much to me.

Yeah, I can't really knock what he said. Because if we hadn't heard that he had attitude issues within the confines of the team, we'd be talking up his confidence. I never have an issue with smack talk and high self-confidence in one's ability. Somebody has to believe in your ability. Might as well be you, even if no one else does.

You know what, that tweet was from Aug 14. I mistook it for something he tweeted *after* he'd been released from the Cowboys. In a context where he's still on the team, you're right, it's a different thing, entirely.
