That's right, Jerry Jones is ruining my favorite team, not just because of this move, but this is just another example of him bringing the circus into town rather than making football moves. The other practice squad signings don't have the entire media begging for them to get a job because of non football issues.

What in the world are you talking about? This is a football move. The kid was an SEC Defensive player on the year, showed potential in his work with the Rams against 2nd and 3rd stringers and will now be given time to develop on the practice squad like most 7th rounders and undrafted rookies. Add in the fact that this team is absolutely in a dire situation in regards to the pass rush, this is far from a terrible move.

Who would you have wanted Jerry to sign, genius?

Who cares about the media circus. This team is going to get it anyway. If the guy can help then who cares. I heard the same arguments for not drafting Manzel. These are the Dallas Cowboys. No matter what we do it's news.

The Practice squad is for development of players who have something that might be developed, so as to contribute. Sam fits this to a tee IMO. Here is a guy who has enough shortcomings in his game to prevent him from making a roster. However, he is also a guy who has some upside that might be able to turn into something if he can be developed. Sam is not the all world football player some made him out to be but, he is a guy who is the ideal candidate for why the PS exists in the NFL.

I think this is a very smart move for the team.

This is a terrible move, awards in college don't mean anything to me, this guy isn't that good and his circus isn't worth the trouble because it doesn't match or exceed his talent

I get the feeling that if it were a Garrett/Marinelli move he would have been brought in before now.

why? he was cut Sat and like many player in his position they are being brought in by teams. Was Korey Toomer move Jerry as well we brought him in yesterday? or how about CJ Spiller? Sorry I think the notion that players some fans may not like are Jerry selection and the ones they like are coaching moves. I don't buy it.

If it was, let's say, Troy Aikman's son that they signed to the practice squad, would you be throwing this fit?

Didn't think so.

Is Troy Aikman's son on the Practice Squad and can his son actually play?

No? Didn't think so.

I think you mean it does exceed his talent lol...

Usually I'd say this is a Jerry move to bring the circus to his town but the defense is in such a mess that this move makes a lot of sense...

That's it right there. He's got a trait that the team desperately needs and is at least worth a look on the practice squad. If it doesn't pan out, so be it.

Sign him up!

When watching college tape on him and Ealy, I rarely noticed Ealy but always noticed Sam. Maybe he doesn't have the ability to play in the NFL, but with his college production, he deserves a shot to prove people right/wrong. I would certainly call him a better prospect than our backup PS secret weapon FB whose name I literally can't recall right now.

I think Rick Gosselin is a fool much of the time, but this morning he was saying he thought that sensational ESPN Jerry Football story was planned by Jerry to generate buzz and take the focus off his football team because he knows it's not a good team. People wondered why in the world Jerry would agree to such an inside look at his life... That would explain it.

So who knows, you may have hit on it. This could be to keep us relevant, just as Jerry said Manziel would do.

For those who say that couldn't be true and this is strictly about football, remember that Will McClay said weeks ago he didn't think Sam was a fit for this defense.

I guess he let Jerry borrow the reins on this one.

You might be right but I kind of think the opposite. I think the reason the writer could never get to Jerry was because Bruce Dalrymple wanted to part of it and kept ducking the requests. The writer does an end around, tracks down Jerry, approaches him in a bar, a few drinks later he's got his story.

Schefter is on Dallas radio right now.

Get this,.he says that it's not good for the league to have Sam out of the league and the Cowboys are "righting a wrong" by bringing him in.

He even went so far as to say that he's not claiming horse trading goes on, but don't think the Cowboys didn't get a call from the league about this.

How incredibly strange.
