If Jameis Winston falls (he easily could)) good chance Jerry pulls the trigger.

If you would have told me Peterson and JF in the same backfield for the DC. I would have asked for your drugs. This may well be the new circus for next years lineup. You know jj would b eating it up from marketing perspective.
I hope it does not come to this which will mean TR and Murray (class players) are done here.

Hopefully, those circus days are behind us. 2 decades of circus but nothing else may have forced Jerry to let Red & Stephen have more say about what happens. But Jerry is still Jerry . . . . . .

Cleveland isn't moving him for anything less than a first rounder.

He also isn't coming to Dallas. Jerry may like him, but I assure you the coaches and Jerry's legal counsel don't.

People need to move on already. I'm looking at you Cris Carter.

In the past I would have said yes, but if all the Jerry stories are true about JF, then there are peoplemaround him that can pull paper right out of his hand to prevent him making these mistakes. The Texans may get frisky though, they really need a QB and that Clowney pick is under fire right now.

I don't think Jerry would take any ones input the second time around if he gets another shot at Johnny. He does have the last say no matter what our hopes are.

Cris Carter "mentioned it" as he talked about Brian Hoyer doing well in Cleveland and how JFF would be popular in Texas. He said the Texans could use him to fill the building, and then he just had to mention Dallas if something happens to Romo.

If Romo gets hurt again, the QB talk will be back in general.

If the guy hurts his back twice in one season, then you might as well draft a guy in the 1st or 2nd next year, because it's over.

Steven will wrestle him to the ground, sit on his chest and pour Johnnie Walker Blue down his throat until he passes out, in the Jones family circles they call this secret sauce.

It is not that he can't "beat out" Hoyer for the job. Cleveland is pulling a typical Cleveland. They are EXTREMELY HAPPY with their current record and do not want to upset the apple cart. Hoyer is a hometown boy that is very popular. Mike Pettine and the GM are very inexperienced and don't know what they have in JFF. IMO they would have won two more games with Johnny on the field, however that is a risk they aren't willing to take. They will be ecstatic being a middle of the road team - which is light years better than they have been historically, and Hoyer will deliver them to their version of The Promised Land. I'm glad Johnny isn't playing yet. Learning from the bench is way underrated IMO. If we get him, GREAT. IF we don't, we'll get someone else. Bottom line is we NEED someone really soon because Romo appears to be barely hanging in there.

this is cognitive dissonance

I would hope Dallas will look to draft a QB next year regardless if Romo sustains another injury. I think Dallas having a young QB waiting in the wings helps insure that they building they are doing today will pay off in the future. As for 1st rd? right now I don't see any in this draft I would be willing to take with a 1st, I do think there are some solid prospect that can be had 2nd to 3rd round

Dude...Cleveland is in first place in their division. What the hell are you talking about?

I don't think Manziel is mature enough to handle playing in Dallas. There would be far too many distractions for him, and I think he would fail badly. Pass.

No one is excusing the Orton situation or pretending it never happened. It is laughable that you think anyone has done that.

Say whatever you want, what's "laughable" are the excuse-makers trying (and failing) to minimize it. Fact is they showed yet another malcontent that you can get whatever you want in Dallas by causing problems. And get to keep the money!

He didn't want to be in Dallas. There isn't much they could have done about it and there is no reason to trust and rely upon a player that has that attitude.

$3 million screams very differently.

By the time the draft rolls around, there will be 1st round QB candidates - for better or worse. There always are.

The round isn't important, what I'm talking about is being willing to drop the resources you'll need to on the position as opposed to trying to find someone in the 6th or saying Vaughn gets the first crack.

There will be guys who will be taken in the 1st does not make them 1st rd quality and that I hope the Cowboys avoid. As for Vaughn I can't say one way or the other but I do think in training camp and pre season next year he should be given the opportunity to compete

Considering most teams only have 18 or so players with 1st round grades, there are guys taken in the first every year that aren't necessarily 1st round quality, doesn't mean they aren't worth taking in the 1st round - seems to have worked with Frederick.

Everyone should have a chance to compete, so we agree there. That's different from saying Vaughn gets first crack.
