Rooting for Eagles or Seahawks Next Week?

It seems most here are rooting for Philly vs Seattle because some gave up on the division weeks ago. Even before the Cowboys played Philly there were many who were pretty much conceding the division to them despite their claims the Eagles are overrated.
Yeah, about 13 weeks ago or longer.

If Seattle beats the Eagles and we beat the Eagles and we win the other 2 against Indy and Washington, we win the East.

Do what u are saying to me is if we win the next 2 and the eagles lose the next two, all we have to do is win the last 2 games?

I mean aren't they one game ahead of us right now? If they lose to Seattle and we beat Chicago this week, we will be back tied with them record wise. Obviously they hold 2 tiebreakers with us. Head to head and division record.

Then the following week, if we beat them, we will now hold a 1 game lead on them. Which we will have Indy/Wash left and they will have Wash/NYG.

Rooting for Eagles means you are conceding the division already and want the wild card. Which is fine. All I'm saying, is we still have a shot at the division if Seattle wins this week. But we have to take care of our business, which remains to be seen.

If we lose to Chicago, all bets are off and we probably miss the playoffs.

It isn't fine to root for Philly to beat Seattle. That is ridiculous. All Cowboy fans should be rooting for Seattle to win that game because it gives us a chance at the division. It's crazy to concede that to Philly right now. I see Seattle winning that division anyway and handing a loss to Arizona along the way that will help us.

Actually we don't. We need Philly to lose a game besides the rematch.

I was saying if we win our next 2 games and Philly loses to Seattle we control our own destiny. My comment was a direct response to the guy I was quoting above me.

That is my point. If they were 2 games ahead, then fine. But they lose to Seattle and we beat the Bears, we are right back where we were last week. And once again, playing for the division lead when we play the Eagles.

The bad thing about Seattle winning the division is it knocks Arizona down to the wild card. And they hold the head to head to us. But they may be on their way to melting down with Stanton. I already thought they were frauds even with Palmer. If Seattle wins the West, we would need Arizona to keep losing if we have to get in via wild card.

I think he means we control our own destiny provided Seattle wins this week. Which was the premise of the thread.

Either result will be good for us. Eagles winning helps up with a cushion in the wild card and Seattle winning helps us in winning the East. Obviously with us playing the Eagles again, you would rather go ahead and win the East if you can.

Although, you could get a favorable matchup if you dropped to the wild card and could play the winner of the South.

After this week, the picture will become much more clear as to how this may shake out.

To be honest with you I don't want to see a playoff game in Dallas. I would love for us to start out on the road and do what GB did in 2009

I think we all should be in the wildcard mindset because it's the more realistic goal as of right now. Now if things start to work out where we can win the division then that's even better but I focusing on the wildcard

If we lose to Chicago, it's all but over.

Dallas likely has a better chance of making the playoffs at 10-6 then at 11-5, as weird as that sounds. Go to Yahoo's Playoff Machine and you will see what I mean. A loss at Chicago does not end the season at all.

How could they make it at 10-6?

Also how could anyone have confidence this team is making the playoffs if they lose to chicago? Doesn't make me believe they can beat the eagles. If they are true playoff contenders, should be more than 1 loss in dec and I would prefer it to be against the coltd

We're giving this Seattle thing too much thought. We need them to win out and more and likely it'll be the case. Seattle beating Phi helps us if we win next two. Beating SF gives SF their 6th loss and beating Arizona will help as well since they're a sinking ship. They have KC, STL in STL, SEA (who has them figured out) and playing at SF in the finale. IMO Stanton will struggle against all of these defenses.

Ontop of that I want to see Detroit drop one of their games before the rematch vs GB.
