Adam Schefer reporting Murray intends to sign; no contract signed by Mathews

He was a "just anybody" that broke Adrian Peterson's records at Oklahoma... averaged nearly 5 yards per carry... broke Jim Brown's long standing
record for consecutive 100 yard games...... he may be gone, he may not... no matter what side of the Murray discussion people are on, calling him
"just anybody" is misinformed and lacks football knowledge.

You see that and I see all the injuries and fumbles. College records mean nothing, maybe we should sign Ron Dayne. Jim Brown had 6 1000 yard seasons by the time he was Murrays age too. Murray got caught in a great situation, he is not a special back. Good but not great.

Also, Randle averaged 6.7 yards per carry.

I would have liked him to stay. Keep the band together for the unfinished business gig.

But... I don't see him hurting us in philly.

It could happen, but if signing Murray is the wrong thing to do, so is Peterson.

I agree. If we want to let a RB walk then I don't see the point in signing an older RB for as much or more money. And of course AP > DM in his career but at this point I don't think trading for him and throwing money at him makes any sense.

I don't get the 'just go out and sign AP" talk. We are letting DM, 5 yr vet and NFL rushing leader, walk because we don't want to pay over $6mil/yr. But now people want us to sign a 9 yr veteran RB who wants $25 mil guaranteed over 3 years (over $8mil/yr).

Somehow I just don't see that happening.

Better taken gets better money. They're about the same age. One has a consistent history with injuries the other is one of the all time greats.

Even if he does sign with Philly, no hard feelings at all from me. It's a business, and if they're willing to offer him the big contract he's seeking, then he'd be dumb not to take it tbh. RB's have a very short shelf-life in the NFL, so they should get as much money as they can, while they can. Plus, this just makes the rivalry that much better.

As for us, not giving a RB big money is the right move, and I, for one, am really glad we're not doing it.

Um, what? Murray is a north-south runner and a red zone nightmare for opposing defenses. McCoy is a shifty, delicate runner who couldn't break a tackle if his life depended on it. If you don't see why Kelly prefers a runner like Murray over McCoy, there really isn't much hope for you. You just don't get it.

Oh so suddenly Chip wants to run a power running clock eating offense? SMH. McCoy is by far a better RB than Murray and its not even close.

even if you don't want to pay him... do you really feel that way?
i don't get it.... but i guess to each his own...

Of course I do...I don't think he's special....what is there to be scared of?

As I said yesterday - shady is way better than him...they are downgrading big time...nothing to be scared of

AP is NOT a FA. Minn. is not going to release him until at least June.
They want to keep him for less money not release him.

I'm aware of that. They do still make trades in the NFL. If Dallas does make a few moves on FA to sure up the D, I'm not against trading for AP as log as it's not a 1st Rounder.

Keep dreaming. Why would those guys come to Dallas?

AP isn't a free agent.
Spiller is more injury prone than Murray
Hardy would use that whole 8-9 mil and will probably be suspended.

Dude, back up a little. It was posed as a question as to what would be our plan including 2nd tier guys. Dear Lord.
