La'el Collins Thread - Cleared post 767; visited Cowboys - 05/06/15

HMMMM, yea, just have Randy talk to La'ell about being a Cowboy........the guy is as geeked as I've ever seen a rookie about being in Dallas since Dez. And sharing the same agent don't hurt. I like where this is headed. Jerry "the Hammer" Jones will not let him leave Dallas without his autograph.

and 50% of the time, I am 100% correct.

Doe shim signing pretty much bump weems off the roster if Green can handle swing tackle duties.

Maybe Bern since he is making 1.5m, but he is the backup C.

Picking one would be one of those good problems. Maybe even worth a trade.

Keep in mind, La'El is looking to set himself up for a fat 2nd contract.

Tackles make more money than guards.

The best pitch would be to say the RT spot is his for the taking.

Depth is something we do not have and could dearly use. They can give him the max contract for UDFA and still be sitting pretty given the value.

I really just didn't want to get my hopes up.

It makes too much sense to go after him hard.

Bernadeau is the only real interior reserve we have, unless the team thinks Green is ready to play guard right now. Plus, no one else has center experience.

Wikipedia page says he grew up a Cowboys fan. Not sure how accurate that is though.

Although I think it could be true. You can't trust it being put in there today by someone. It's been edited recently.

Leary is also from Baton Rogue, but they went to different High Schools and you don't usually want to train your replacement.

I think he would be smart enough to know that we like Free a lot... tell him that tackle will be open by his 3rd year (the last year before RFA) and right now he could be this years Zach Martin.

You could also tell him that pro bowl guards make more money than above average RTs

And look what the Giants (another team I heard he was looking at) have done with their first round tackles lately... compare to what we have done with our first round interior linemen.

Collins has all the leverage.

The money is at tackle, so doubtful he'll be on board with any talk of him playing guard.
