We don't know each party's part in the altercation.
Hardy obviously was violent with her and she with him.
Play ball

Exactly some people love to sound noble on the Internet. These people always take the easiest position with little pushback. I live in Charlotte and plenty has been discussed how the girlfriend was a real loser. But her issues are not newsworthy.

I will not defend Greg Hardy. But I will ask this question (even though I already know the answer)...there are other players in the NFL who have been accused of domestic violence, they are:

Tony McDaniel (no contest, 6 mo. probation, suspended 1 game) Tampa Bay Bucs
Kevin Williams (pleaded guilty, 1 yr probation) of the N.O. Saints
Erik Walden of the Detroit Lions, (50 hrs community service..suspended 1 game)
Randy Starks (charges dropped IF counseling) of the Cleveland Brown
Frostee Rucker (plead no contest, vandalism & false imprisonment, 3 years probation, 750 hours community service) of the Arizona Cardinals

(this list does not include those players for whom charges were dropped, except Randy Starks due to the circumstances under which the charges were dropped.)

why are these guys and their team not under the same scrutiny as Greg Hardy and the Dallas Cowboys?* They should be. They all should be.

*Theories have been given in the other thread, but feel free to offer more opinions if you have them.

What a disgusting piece of ****. He should be in prison where all the other animals are just like him. Anyone that makes excuses for this behavior are no better than this animal. This is why you arm yourselves, ladies. I'm sick as a fan, and embarrassed.

You're just as disgusting since you root for them every week. Might want to reevaluate yourself.

I was hoping that he didn't do this. After reading the article I no longer hold such hope. I literally feel nauseous after seeing those pictures.

This is stupid.

We have a judicial system for a reason. He was run through that system and worked out an amicable solution to this issue through that system and his charges have been expunged.
He then received the longest suspension in league history (I'm classifying what he was on last season as a suspension) lost out on millions of dollars and will continue to lose out on money and earning potential for the rest of his life.

HE HAS BEEN PUNISHED. HE STILL HAS A RIGHT TO WORK AND SHOULD BE ALLOWED TO WORK.

I am in no way condoning domestic violence, my mother is a social worker and worked at a local battered women shelter for my entire childhood. I understand domestic violence more than most. And in no way is this level of violence even work discussion.

If you have an issue with domestic violence, volunteer at a shelter. Run for office, to strengthen laws. Donate to a cause.
But for gods sake. Stop complaining about a person that has been punished and learned from it.

Not saying that she didn't have her part in it, I'm just making the point that pictures/videos make it realistic to the human mind. If we don't see anything, then we can deceive ourselves into believing that nothing happened.

I agree but in this instance......when I read about what they said went down that night.....I expected her to look like that porn star did after War Machine beat her almost to death. These pictures don't paint the same picture that report did.

If someone is getting beat on, there are marks on the face. People strike the face during violent conflicts. I take no that there are zero pictures of any marks on her face.

What? What about the one under her chin? She was bruised from head to toe. I'm really amazed that people are really this clueless and think there is ANY justification for this.

I'm not one of these guys who want Hardy off the team because of this. He served his punishment and I'm okay with that. I don't particularly care for him as an individual off the field, but I don't agree with a lot of these football players off the field behavior. I can separate the two, I'm just not about making excuses for people when they do horrible things off the field.

This is exactly how I feel. My eyes are wide open on this. I knew before the pictures came out that he wasn't the best human being off the field.

Maybe not to you, but to others it does change. I'm not against him being on the team, I'm just not going to act like Hardy was innocent, and I'm not saying that she was innocent, I'm saying that Hardy has to be smarter by staying away from druggie women so he doesn't put himself in these kind of situations. He's not going to win, no matter what happened.

Everyone knew over a year ago that he threw his ex around, and I think it's more than irrational that seeing the pictures changes peoples' understanding of that. It's like, people care less about his conviction than a couple pictures floated on the internet that could as easily be clips from a movie as anything to do with Greg Hardy. I'm not saying they're fakes. I'm sure they're genuine. But the way people flip out because a picture of the deed suddenly appears is laughable. I said the same thing about Ray Rice. What did people think a pro football player punching out a woman would look like?

I agree with that, it looks like she got bruised from falling on something (she said she was thrown on the guns), that may have happened, but it's obvious that he didn't punch her, and I don't think she ever claimed that he did. Something happened, we just don't know the exact details.

People will never let this go, right or wrong.

Mike Vick, Big Ben, Ray Lewis, Ray Rice, the Patriots all still carry their own version of a Scarlet Letter.

If the Cowboys feel the worse is over they should sign him long term.

He had no criminal or violent history before this and has gone 18 months clean since. I have made up my mind and so have 95% of everyone else.

Little chance that people's stances will ever change.

Exactly my point! I don't get the sudden uproar.

Well, yes I do. It's the media. It's the Cowboys. 'Nuff said.

Hardy was convicted of domestic violence. Everybody knows what he did. Why do pictures of it change anything?

I knew Ray Rice punched his wife but something changed when I saw the video. Thats just me though

Does RKG apply here?

Regardless of what we've heard about the whole RKG thing, I'm guessing it's more like the Parcells definition of what he looks for in a player. If football is more important to them than just about anything and they play hard, they're the RKG.

Yea but that Ray Rice video was different because of what we saw. Obviously, a rational mind would tell us that if a pro football player or any strong man hits a woman in the face, she's going down hard, but to actually see it, made it real. Same with these pictures in a lesser manner. We're visual beings, it didn't matter if she only had a scratch on her back, seeing things make it real.

What punishment under the law and how do you know he learned from it, especially after his comments in his first press conference? Sounds like he learned he got away with it.
