The Case for Firing Jason Garrett and the coaching staff **merged**

Get points and pray the defense can make stops.

I doubt when he kicked the 3, did he envision Carolina having a nice 7+ minute drive for a touchdown

Does it even matter any more who the coach is?

This team is not structured well and it all starts and ends with Jerry.

Let me ask all you Garrett backers a question: if JG were fired by Dallas tomorrow, is there a single team in the NFL that would consider him for a head coaching job? Hell, is there anyone who would even consider him for an offensive coordinator position?

What does that say about Garrett as a coach? And worse yet, what does that say about our franchise and its management?

Not at the NFL level. He is done.

Well Jerry isn't going anywhere. I see talent on both sides of the ball but this team consistently comes up shortly in big games (usually close games..see Game 17 in 2011/2012/2013). Good coaching staffs find ways to win those games but JG has found so many ways to let us down.

He is a fake,a charlatan and has no idea on how to adapt to what the other team is doing,Jerry will realize this soon enough.

I'm a fan of other aspects of Garrett as a HC, but his overwhelming tendency to kick field goals/punt when he should go for it is a very legitimate problem, and one that solely falls on his shoulders. There's no FO or player execution to blame. As already noted, kicking that second field goal still left it as a 3 score game. There's not even any arcane statistical probability scenario to appeal to. Also, as already noted by others, when you are within a few yards of the endzone against an elite team, 3 pts is probably as bad as 0. Very frustrating.

Garrett has done no better than Dave Campo who had no franchise QB and only lasted three years. In four out of five years, a Garrett led team didn't make the playoffs, is 0-3 in games to make the playoffs or go home games where the team finished 8-8 in each of those seasons, and the one in which the team did make the playoffs, it has become more obvious that Garrett had nothing to do with it because it's an aberration of his pattern. If Dave Campo had Romo, he's probably guaranteed three wins each of the seasons he coached to finish 8-8 as well. Does Garrett do anything except pretend he does something?

Jerry came out and said he was effectively a "coach in training". His training has failed miserably.
