Finally saw SW:TFA the other night. It's nice to see the franchise back in capable hands -- casting, dialogue, cinematography, no blatantly racist aliens, etc. -- but I cannot, for the life of me, comprehend the decision to greenlight another death star plot. Fin escaping and finding Luke weren't compelling enough storylines? I suppose a death star capable of oblitering an entire galaxy in one blow is the big creative leap we can expect for the next installment.

possible but how come both Leia and Han dont recognize her?.that small bar owner gave strong hints that he was Lukes daughter.

would you recognize your 4 year old niece 14 years later, especially if you thought she was dead?

Or maybe, they never met her

I agree. My biggest gripe with the movie.

no ,doomsday was speculating that Rey was their daughter.

ah, I think she will be Luke's daughter, which to me is dumb. why does every galactic villain/savior have to come from that family. how did the galaxy ever go on before they were born?

I am betting Snokes is Darth Plagueis mentioned by Palpatine in Episode III. Just a guess. I like your theory about Rey being Luke's daughter.

Don't know if anyone has mentioned this already and I didn't feel like going though all the pages to see, but if you remember in III when Palpatine was talking to Anakin he said that Plagueis was killed by his apprentice in his sleep which was Palpatine when he was much younger, so I don't think that Snokes is Plagueis. More then likely he is a new sith or just a character that isnt meant to be much

It's possible that Plagueis created Anakin.
It's very possible sidious did not kill him. At least not permanently.

It may have to go through that family because Anakin was the seed. The seed that Plagueis planted and continues to try and get his creation right.

Check out the videos I posted earlier in thread. It's a good listen.

It would be pretty easy to write it in that Palps only thought he killed Plagueis. The guy was supposed to be so powerful that he found a way to cheat death. Reall not so far fetched. I think Snokes has to be an important character. Kylo Ren isn't the main villain of this new trilogy. Snokes is. My prediction is that Ren will turn back to the light at some point, likely in the 3rd movie.

We also can't rule out the very slight possibility that Snokes is Palpatine who used the teaching he learned from Plageuis to avoid his death in Episode VI.

Interesting. Palp as Snoke. But I don't see it.

Unlike, Vader, I believe Kylo dies dark. No light.

Maybe Snokes is a Palpatine clone? Just throwing that out there.

Saw it this evening. Loved it. Can't wait for the return in 2017. I'm not going to critique. I'm just a fan.

My daily Star Wars ramblings

I think Finn is a descendent of Lando Calrissian.

Lando:
"I've just made a deal that will keep the empire out of here forever"
"That wasn't our deal"
"This deal is getting worse all the time"

Finn: "I'm a big deal"

That makes perfect sense. You definitely know your Star Wars.

I thought Daisy Ridleys acting was the biggest problem with the film. She was not good.

She's Meryl Streep compared to Natalie Portman. I think that's the first time I've heard someone say that about her, I thought she was great

I mean comparing anything to the prequels will make it seem favorable.

It does seem to be a minority opinion, I'm surprised.
