I am personally pulling for Weeden to win the last regular season game and win at least one playoff game just to underscore the issues with the Cowboy's offensive coaching approach / philosophy -- with the hopes that will force them to take a more critical look at how to make it better.

How could they not take a critical look already? He looked 10x more comfortable running the Texans offense on Sunday than he ever did here. When you consider the fact that he was here for 2 years learning the offense and only with the Texans for a month, how does that not raise eyebrows with the Jones clan? Are they that beholden to Garrett?

No he's not. The system shares blame. That's the whole point. And the defense or do you forget the 39 Atlanta hung on him and the epic fail of the defense vs NO after Weeden drove us down to tie the game?

Ok. Tbh, I don't care enough about Weeden's tenure to continue arguing my point. No offense. lol

I've kinda said more than I expected to in this thread.

He had his opportunity here to do the exact same thing here that he did for the Texans and he failed. A lot of people see that and feel that way. You do not. See how that works?

Could he have started a little longer? Maybe. But he got a shot here and it didn't work out. Easier to blame the coaches than his very questionable on-field performance. *shrug*

I guess the question becomes, if multiple backup QBs are all having questionable on-field performances, at what point is it appropriate to start questioning the coaching/scheme?

I'm glad Weeden called out Jerry. But the fact that Weeden is running his mouth after his first win in forever says it all. Watching this guy in the playoffs will prove how bad NFL scouts suck. The guy was said to have everything a good QB needs (Strong arm, Height etc...) Yet he lacks the one thing successful QB's have, a brain.

You have to question everything from the top down, when you take a guy who has been your backup for two years, yank him after losing to one of the best teams in the league without his #1 WR or a running game, and kneejerk trade for a journeyman turnover machine, who was beat out by Tyrod Taylor and EJ Manuel, with no experience in this offense.

Weeden played well here.

He didn't get half the support given Cassel.

Brandon Weeden is now the 9th rated QB in the NFL.

Just so everyone knows, replacing him with Cassel was Jerry Jones's decision.

If they had stuck by Weeden then they might have had a chance to win.

Not only that, but Weeden could have been the bridge between the time Romo was through, most likely next season, and the time they had a legitimate future QB ready to start.

You know this for sure? If so, how? Do you have any proof?

It was still a raw deal in retrospect.

I am the last person to feel sorry for ineptitude, but I think there has been a lot of reliance on his failures to excuse other really big issues with this team.

If I am grading on pure performance, Cassel was worse.

And as bad as Cassell was I still think he could do a solid job for another team like he has done throughout his career.

I don't know. He didn't look like he had it physically. He had a lot of "punts" and issues gripping the football. Also, that last pick was god awful. I think he is the first and only QB to get intercepted on an intentional grounding.
