Prefer Lawson in a small trade down
You need a trading partner and get value. Much easier said then done. Would you pick Lawson at 4 if you get no offers for trade down then?
Prefer Lawson in a small trade down
yes he leads a weak draft of pass rushers and @ 4 we can do better with another player @ another position

Let say Tunsil, Ramsey and Wentz are gone like many projected. Who will you take then if you are STUCK at 4 with no takers for that pick. FO is unlikely taking Elliot so who do you take at #4. Jacks?
Goff.
I doubt his decisions are driven to make him slide in the draft. If anything, he is trying to preserve his film reputation and not have any workout numbers ruin that.Jack is using his injury to make sure he slides down a bit. I think he's afraid Cleveland might not go the Qb route now that they have RG3 and take him he simply doesn't want to go to Cleveland. He is fine and will be a great player. For us though where does he play ? Does Lee switch back to Mike and he goes to Will ? Who plays Sam ? I'm ok with Jack or Bosa at 4 but I still say trade back if you can.
Tiny hands. Skinny. Romo is going to play four more years, etc.
Pocket presence. Accuracy. TOSB.
I'm certainly not down on Bosa. I think his floor is a 5-8 sack a year guy and he could be a Watt like player very similar combine results build and frame. I'm going to say out loud what other are only thinking. Look at the best edge rushers historically in the modern game before Watt. Mostly black guys right. Also Watt is a one in a generation type player and Bosa is very very similar how likely is it that Bosa could be as good ? Unlikely but certainly possible. Due to this he is likely to fall if we don't take him at 4. We could trade back to 7 he might still be there. Don't think he would fall to 15 though.
No... they aren't they same. Watt put up those numbers 20 some pounds heavier.

Apparently you did not hear me. Small. Hands.
Bobby Carpenter is a good example of that. One other thing about Bosa. He played on some extremely talented Ohio State teams, this past class in particular is just insane.
I know it sounds unfair to hold that against him, but there are plenty of examples where players from star-studded programs like that don't manage to find their fit in the NFL.
Bobby Carpenter is a good example of that.
Weak?
He's better than Fowler last year. Coples and Jordan's drafts come to mind. The year we drafted DLaw there were 3 edge prospects in the draft which is why we traded up for DLaw.
This year there is depth into the second round with Ogbah, Dodd, and Bullard to go along with Bosa, Spence, Buckner, and Lawson who are sure to go in the first.
I blame Brian Broaddus and the national good vs great narrative gone groupthink. I also blame the cottage industry that has to try and keep the process interesting.
There are better players in this draft than Bosa but not many. I think he is strong enough (28 reps) that he would manhandle mediocre RT like Moses and Pugh in the division. I want to see if Lane Johnson can block him.
If he is so good to which he required the attention of the opposing team to double and triple team him constantly that should free up his teammates to make plays. Doesn't that count as success. He still put up very good numbers despite being doubled and tripled teamed.

I read reports generated by the media and thats the take on the DE position.
The DTis strong but the rushers mainly pass gas.
Watt was 22 when he came out too. Bosa has the best measurables of the class. He's in the top quarter of SPARQ's and the like even if he isn't Watt.
The way you guys carry on it would seem that Bosa is a below average athlete. That is clearly not the case. 3 cone and shuttle have the highest correlation to DE success and that is where he is best. No injuries, highly productive, athletic.
