Wilcox better watch his back. Church still has value, but he's FA in 2017, and at an age where he's replaceable.

Naw, I give Church a hard time but would loved him as the 3rd S. I can't get my way all the time? Want Jospeh if we don't trade up for Wentz, etc. This is America!:D

Are you really sure you're a Cowboy's fan? We need to check your official Cowboys fandom card to see if it expired...

Meh, never was a cheerleader just for the sake of being one. But ask yourself, mate, out of all the stellar Cowboys, dead and living and still playing, why revere a mediocre overhyped player like Bates? Never could understand it. Never will. Bates ascending the heights of mediocrity and all of us seem ready to deify him as if he were a Charlie Waters or a Darren Woodson. Today he'd be hard-pressed to battle a Wilcox.

Wish we would have done this with Harris.

Dwayne Harris signed a 5 year, $17,500,000 contract with a $4,000,000 signing bonus and $7,100,000 guaranteed.

If Heath got anything like that, then I'd be pretty angry about it, but since it's bound to be significantly less, I think it's a good move.

Nope. But I won't pretend a guy who can't play in this league is worthy of a 4-year deal. I know, I know. Who can possibly replace his 8 Special Teams tackles?
Bill Bates, perhaps the most overhyped Cowboy of all time.

No. Bill Bates was a really good special teams player, who played in some nickel and dime packages. Most Cowboy fans appreciated his toughness and heart. But please, don't let me interrupt your whine fest, do continue.

Not sure why you combined those posts.

I loved Bill Bates.

Jeff Heath wishes he was Bill Bates.

No, that's too much but if would have extended him bf he hit the market it would have been nice.

Church makes $4.3m.
Wilcox makes $1.3m.

Both are FA next year.

Even more reason to draft Karl Joseph or Darian Thompson this year.

EDIT: or, Jalen Ramsey. Starters are then Ramsey and Jones at S with Church/Heath as your reserves and Wilcox as a ST gunner. I can live with that.

Yeah, I know. But Wilcox is the one who's losing out defensive snaps to Jones, primarily. He lost ~15% of his snaps last season, and that's with Scandrick out and Jones straddling the two positions. Church lost a few snaps, too, but only a handful. Church is a limited player, but at least you can expect him to be where he's supposed to be most of the time.
