If they are going to take a QB next round (would rather they take a CB or D-lineman) I hope they go after the kid from N.C. State!

Most of the mocks had

is this the first time you've followed the draft? C'mon man! Dont put any faith in mock drafts, they set you up for heartache.

Not putting faith in a mock draft, but when almost every single one had Smith going after the 2nd round, that's a pretty good indication we took him too high. We could have had Smith and a 2nd round player who could contribute immediately

Good, because I think Dallas is taking Cardale Jones in the 3rd...

I doubt this tbh
They like Prescott. The DWI he got recently probably sealed the deal for Jerry. Im sure it opened up a soft spot for Jerry

FYI....Smith played MLB for ND, and he's an excellent blitzer. Should be the future after McClain completes yet another one year contract because he does just enough to collect a paycheck.

LOL you're not thinking clearly. The butt hurt has somehow scrambled your brain.

The Cowboys have cashed in on several gambles in recent history. They've also hit on plenty of draft picks over the past few years- probably more than most teams.

There's plenty of legit gripes for any reasonable fan to have with this organization. I'll never understand why some fans insist on making things up on top of it.

Who is making things up? What results do you use to provide "hit on plenty." They went safe on the OL - Smith, Fred, Martin (v JFB), Collins UDFA, Dez was projected to go in early Rd 1 (14th by Mayock and went 24th). I get that all of those draft hits are taking over the NFL, but our gambles are envied?

So "personal reasons" isn't a gamble? Sean Lee had injury concerns too. He was a gamble. You can sit here and downplay these "gambles" but Jerry and co. have been gambling long before now and with the history they have had since 2010...they seem to be doing something right with the draft.

And just as I thought not even 24 hours ago in a Jack conversation.

This is true. I just don't get completely taking him off the board. Even as a late rounder. I think someone takes him tomorrow though. I'm not sure if I do it in the 2nd. Not where we are picking.

Not to be unfair to him but don't we hear this every year? The injury guy who analysts and scouts say "If it wasn't for the injury he'd be a top 10 pick....."? And then they go on to either have a short career or a irrelevant one?

Did not see one post in the last 2 months about Smith as a second. But now it is a great gamble
